Is there any hardcore DDR double player around? Do you play for the score or for the show? Lets hang around and chill and talk double play, because in the end 2 is better than 1
Introduce yourself and tell us about your story.
If I start with myself. Call me Criz and I'm from Sweden. Started playing DDR back in 2005, on Extreme, which was a great time back then. Everything was so chilled and you played for fun. You never had to call anyone because they were always at the arcade, just perfect
At this time tho I was still a noob (x5) and more so incapable of playing doubles at all. If I saw a good double player my body would freeze and my mouth would shut in a single posture for hours
Loud in my mind I would think "Some day I want be just as good".
2006 arrived and something called ITG a.k.a. In The Groove made its appearance and changed my life forever. I was not just about playing for fun, it was a sport, it was to compete, to win and to show everyone that you're the best. It went from
to
. I don't say it was bad in any way just that the scene just went more competitive which in the end, maybe was a good thing.
Somewhere on the road I decided to start practising doubles, both on arcade and on stepmania and I did it often. Like without rest hours and hours
. Then in 2007 I went abroad to Japan. Tokyo to be more precise, the heart of DDR, the origin of the true dance masters. If I saw a good double player I would yell "AAAhh master show me how to play doubles" and they would be like "No no no just play more and you will be good" Which of course is true word of DDR knowledge. It's a common fact that all Japanese plays TLOM Doubles at least 300 times on their free time. I got a lot of support from the Japanese players and when I returned home I continued to practising hard. Today I enjoy playing doubles whatever it's DDR, In The Groove or Pump It Up, for fun, for show or just to kick ass in tournaments 8)
Oh btw,. My favourite song on doubles is Chaos & CSFILSM. What's yours?

Not Hardcore, but more casual.
I started with Doubles back at SN2 release, that for some odd reason all stepcharts they were discussing were double charts.
I mainly play for fun after a few single's round and if I have the money.

"Oh does it mean that you played Singles a lot or maybe you haven't experienced the true salvation of doubles yet. Anyway tell us your story and we will help you find the pads. They say that 8 panels describe the soul of the chart better than 4 panel in the same way people who play a lot of doubles also have a good soul".............w8 a sec

So why do you find singles boring? tell us more

I guess it's double price for playing doubles? We had that for ages in Sweden, now I've convinced the owners to lower to price 8) So I'm all happy.
I remember back in 2007 when we discussed how Pluto Relinquish doubles Expert had 16th note stream compared to the single which had 12th notes. Totally crazy, especially on extra stage.

Well I play singles all the time on my PC (ITG2 on a Cobalt Flux) and AC. I can pass every song on DDR
N2 on every difficulty (apart from Pluto R: oni)
I play doubles for an actual challenge. Because it's really freekin' hard (and I can play it home with 2 crap mats or in the AC with doubles premium
).
