Comic Con 2010

The DanceMasters and DanceDanceRevolution official pages on Facebook are suggesting that more information about these games might be at Comic Con 2010.

Anyone attending this year?

Unfortunately, a lot of the times when they post that crap, it has nothing to do with the game at all. For example, when the DDR page was linking the live stream page for the Konami press conference, even though it had nothing to do with DDR.

Hopefully Unknown Gamer will be making an appearance at the event and can give us details if the games are there .

I actually wasn't planning to be there this year, but fate has stepped in and told me, "Okay, you're going. Deal with it."

Here's what I can tell you from the information that's currently available.

In 2008, KONAMI and many other video game publishers were stuffed in real small booths up against a wall. It was constantly packed with foot traffic and extremely difficult to move around in there. I would say that it was probably the reason why U1-Asami's autograph session had to be canceled. (I did see him though!) The only DDR game on display for all four days was Hottest Party 2. (That was also Rock Revolution's big year...)

In 2009, KONAMI was in a big booth again like previous years, but they decided to split it in half with their subsidiary, HUDSON SOFT. KONAMI/HUDSON's booth was focused mainly on the Yu-gi-oh! franchise and on casual games. There was no DDR that year. I did see that some people got to play Pop'n Music Wii, but wasn't that a press only thing that was tucked away somewhere?

In 2010, KONAMI has their big booth once again all to themselves. There is more than enough room for DDR and Dance Masters stations. I'll be there and see what I can find out for you guys. Photos and videos... and as much I want to try it out... it will be a bitter cold day in hell before I play Dance Masters for the first time in front of hundreds (thousands) of people! lol

I'm hoping for an expanded song list for Dance Masters. I really need/want a strong song list to get me to run out and buy the game when Kinect launches.

I noticed that DDR's Facebook page says "ESRB Rating: E-T". What DDR game was rated T?

None according to ESRB. They're all either "Everyone" or "10+".

Gears of War 3 will be demoed at San Diego Comic Con. In honor of that, there's a 20x XP event for Gears of War 2 for the weekend of the convention. Details here.

Nope. UM1 & 2 and UNI3 were E, while the others were E10.


Why can't Halo 3 do this? I only have one achievement left, and I'm not motivated to play Halo for more than two games in a row.

Oh, I should have mentioned this earlier, but as far as music games go, Konami's booth only had Karaoke Revolution Glee on display.

I've often wondered that, but I'm not really motivated to play Halo 3 unless it's with friends in a social match, to grind out those Map Pack Achievements. I don't really have the skill to get the 5G free-for-all weapon achievements.
