Worth getting for the price? I need something to do 7s, 8s and moderate 9s on for exercise purposes only, nothing too serious. This pad seems to get pretty good reviews. I had a Red Octane foam insert when they first came out and they were "okay".

I've heard nothing but bad things about DDR Game pads. RedOctane Ignition pads are pretty good, though; I have an Ignition 5.0 that I can AAA 9's on. I recommend it.

I have a PG Impact Pad and i recommend it but you must practice with this pad because it's very hard to play with it.

Impacts play like a DDR pad, though they do require you to step near the middle due to the size of the steel sheets inside (about 100mm square IIRC)

If you don't like the Red Octane Ignition pads, then you won't like any DDR pads. :{
All pads get "pretty good reviews", because that's just how DDR fans are. They aren't going to admit that they've spent $300 on a chunk of plastic that doesn't really feel anything like playing in the arcade, and they all get so used to their home setup, that it feels "correct" to them, but weird to someone playing on it for the first time.
If you're going to spend $50, you may as well go with the Red Octane Ignition, because you know exactly what you're getting, and also that whoever is playing on it will still be able to use it to play the hardest of the ITG songs one day, simply because it's designed by DDR players, who designed it to stand up to years and years of 10-foot play.

Get this. Best soft pad I have ever used, has lasted me years, is pretty cheap, and I personally like it better than the Ignitions.
