Hi everyone,

Does anyone know a decent, reliable metal dance pad they would recommend.

I have heard good and bad views on metal dance pads and I wasn't sure.

Well first off, there are questions one must ask themselves.
-Am I a good player?
-Would a pad make a difference?
-How long will I use this product? Will I play with it twice and then let it collect dust?
-How much is too much or - how much am I willing to spend?

What metal dance pad(s) have you reviewed and most importantly where did you review them (sites).

If you're not a hardcore player, or if you don't play anything over 9s, get a RO Afterburner. If you play more than that or have money to burn, DJ Dao is making a DDR ASC, it will probably be ready in March or MAYBE earlier, you can wait for that. It'll probably cost somewhere between $300-600.

Well, the TX-2000's are pretty good for about a year (maybe more if you take GOOD care of them) and their pretty much the cheaper brand of metal pads...but they will cost around $99 - $149 on the net >_>.

Thanks to everyone who replied back to subject!

Answers:

1. I would say I'm a o.k player the hardest I could maybe go is 8s
2. Yes a metal pad would make a difference because as a lot of DDR players I personally find when playing at the arcades it's a lot easier meaning pad wise.
3.I would use it mostly everyday
4. Spending wise most likely £120-£160

Reviewed:

Colbalt Flux - Durable, long lasting, great quality.
TX-1000 - I have heard the step panels crack and the pad itself not reliable.
TX-6500 v2 [handle] A good product but the handles aren't that great.
TX-2501 [handle] Not as good as the TX-6500 but still o.k but the handles are shaky and bend easily.
Blue Shark [2inch] - Great sensors, extremely sensitive, overall quality pad.
Afterburner v2.0 - Pads itself are noisy, but durable.

Actually, I'm interested in this thread, too.

I'm really not happy with how much money I sink into the arcade (up to $10/wk), and I think I could justify a hard pad purchase at this rate. Problem is, I'd need two (for doubles), and they need to be pretty good because I'd want to play 15's new scale or higher.

Wait for djdao's metal pad. He's supposedly interested in making one from a topic he made from Bemanistyle.

For the time being, our safest bet would be to buy the two cobalt fluxes nad to mod it the way hellrazor and kyzentun modded it to keep the pads together.
