Covers/Remixes vs Original Licenses

Looking over at some of DDR license history, I've come to prefer a lot of dance remixes over the original songs.

Some of the ones I prefer covers over the original are:

What about Long Train' Runnin?

I tried syncing the original Long Train Runnin... it ain't happening. Being that it's done by a live band means the tempo sways. I do like the Doobie Brothers though.

It depends. Sometimes the original works better for a rhythm game sometimes a cover because it makes the tempo cleaner and more prominent. And songs that work better for DDR aren't necessarily the version I'd pick just to listen to.

It's kinda weird, though. TM Revolution is, for lack of a better term, different when he's without Abingdon Boys School (his band). I don't mean because of the differing styles of music, either.

I almost always prefer the originals, and if the originals are ill suited to DDR, a remix. Covers sometimes end very poorly, but we have seen some amazing DDR original covers. Genie in a Bottle and My Favorite Things come to mind.

Quite a bit of the Dancemania discography is covered. Especially the earlier albums.
