So I was on Dave and Buster's website and read their description of Dance Dance Revolution:

"Express yourself! The music is pumping - can you follow the moves and keep the beat? A pad senses your rhythm: the better you do, the better your character does on screen. Choose from 28 songs and wow 'em with a solo act or rip up the dance floor with a friend.

lol, 28 songs? wtf? your character is a representation of your dancing? I just find descriptions like these are laughable. They could have just stayed with "have fun stepping in beat with beat thumping music" or something like that, but to put absolutely incorrect info on there makes me shake my head.

"I'm honestly pissed off."
But telling people to "have fun stepping in beat with beat thumping music" would be incorrect too. Most of the people playing on the machine can't step on beat.

Note to self:

With how they got the routines and such on X/HP/etc, I'd love to see a facility for the characters goofing up more and stuff if you're in the danger zone.

This may be true, but the goal of the game is to step on beat. When describing a racing game you don't say "have fun driving off the road and placing dead last!" because that's what most people do. Tongue

This actually seems to be a good idea. If nothing else, add to the polish of DDR. Many other rhythm games will alter the music when you're doing bad/good, so why not alter the dance routines when you're doing bad/good?

Play SM4 and turn on the "Haste" mod. The music speeds up while you do good, and slows down when you start missing. It's pretty fun.

CNET needs to get their facts straight. If this is the Japanese version, it came out in 1998. If it's the American version, in 2000 or 2001.
