Interesting DDR X theory - (retitled) FIXING BROKEN ENDLESS.

This thread explored something interesting I came across, and apparently I wasn't the first. For reference, here's the conversation, and how you fix a looping set of stages:

FIX: Clear the set with CUT turned on.

I just want to see if this is happening with anybody else's mix.

Today, I popped in DDR X to play some Endless/Level 4, continuing my previous game. And the song selection appears to be sticking to five stages:

SUNKiSS DROP ~Alison Side~
Ticket To Bombay
Xmix 2 (Beats 'n' Bangs) (=EDIT: correction; I just thought "the Taj He Spitz one." Silly me.)
Pluto
Horatio

Now, if the date is used as a stage-generating variable, it's possible that your disc will loop 5 stages as well; although the order of them has changed around a couple times. I just want to see if this is happening anywhere else... or if something else I'm doing (scores, grades, combos) means that I've "broken" Endless Mode. '

Somebody pop it in and tell me what yours does!

I think I noticed that in the DDR X Japan version, where it kept picking the same 5-10 songs over and over again.

Which ones did you get, and when?

And more importantly, did it ever stop? ^.^

I'm really tired of getting potatoed.

I can't remember, it was a few months ago.

It will end after a few loops I think.

It's been about an hour, now...

Weird. It's like a videogame equivalent of a solar eclipse or something. Glad to know it *does* stop, though; and that I won't have to "New Game" to do so. (Or if that even would?)

My theory when this happened to me (repeatedly, with PRO), was that the game wants you to beat those songs before letting you progress. I'm assuming you've been failing the set of 5 at some point every time. Correct?

I've cleared it twice.

This started around stage 60, and I'm working through 70-75 now. Score (to start) is about 27 billion, and I'm using Robo-Zukin. I suppose I could exit Game Mode, see if that does something...**

And good point. I may be getting potatoed, but at least I'm not being Relinquished.

** EDIT: Well, that did nothing, and neither did choosing another character. Scores/records, maybe? ^.^'

AND, UNBROKEN!!!

For sure, it's either steps you hit, or scoring. Possibly grading. Clearing the set with "Cut" on fixed it. I'm sure that "failing until you get the set" may be part of it, but there's apparently a few sets with mathmatical anomalies, where clearing one pretty well will cause it to reoccur. And now, we know how to fix that.

Also: Pluto and Horatio play pretty funny on Cut. SUNKiSS DROP does a little, too. The chorus makes me want to play BOOM BOOM DOLLAR.

The level that I'm playing on is All on Doubles. I'm at around stage 100 and I have seen that the game throws some of the songs more frequently than others. It has thrown Pluto my way too many times, and I think it's because it wants me to break my combo (my combo hasn't been broken since stage one)
