Earth Day 2009

The last reply to the last Earth Day thread was over 6 months ago, so I didn't know if it would be worth bumping it.



Gas prices are slowly starting to go up again as the economy slowly starts to recover. It dramatically dropped to like $1.89 - $1.99 or something in my area, but now it's about $2.29. By summer it should be closer to the $3 range.

We need more of those clean energy windmill things. I saw a YouTube video of a trucker passing a huge group of them on a highway. I'll find it later and post it here.

It's not that the prices are getting higher again. It's the value of a dollar going down.

For earth day this year, even though it isnt really going greener, I layed out n the grass for half an hour enjoying nature while waiting for my parents to pick me up from soccer tryouts. They still didn't come until a half an hour after that though...

You know I find that the high gas prices before was actually a good thing. It made most people think twice before using a car. Though economically, it isn't a good thing towards companies as people won't buy gas as often and people will decide to go out less to stores and malls.

Not only that, but people didn't just revert to their old ways after gas prices went back down, so we now have the best of both worlds. At least, we will until gas prices fall out of sync with inflation again.

Me, I'm not into the whole "going green" fad, but I try to do little things if I happen to notice them.

Same here. Like if I buy a Switch (canned carbonated juice) at school, then I'll recycle it. But I don't buy anything recycleable at school that much anymore. My school actually put up a Recycling for Dummies poster up in the cafeteria.
