If the pads on the brand new DDR X machines for US/EU are terrible like the SN2 ones? I really hope Betson gets it this time. What does ti take to make pads that are as perfect as the ones on the Extreme?

Betson is not producing the pads. Konami is.

I get it, Bolt-Edge

Lol Wow, this is good news. No more bullshit pads. Now I can rest assured.
And even if this thread is a "false alarm", I see you guys not looking at much other stuff...

meh it's fine...
At first, i thought Betson was making the machine, at that point i was all "oh f***ing hell, another DDR machine gone to waste
"
...only to later find out that they are only DISTRIBUTING it, not making it...what a sigh of relief that was

I thought the extreme ones were terrible too... Or at least the ones at my arcade. I'd rather the pads be more like my home pads, because I don't have to lift my feet so high off the ground, not much pressure is needed for those. At the arcades, it needs so much pressure that enough pressure gets put on the pad to make the pad work...

That's interesting, Kynayo. Extreme pads are known to be pretty awesome. Extreme is what made expert players, afterall. The most important thing to me and is my "weakness" is jacks, and the SuperNOVA pad at my arcade is garbage in that department.
If it's not sensitive enough, it's either you're light weight, use the bar, or both. Or the machine been f*cked up over the years =p

I'm about 110 pounds, and I only use the bar when I lose my balance, and even then, I hold it in a way that you can push downwards and it'll put even MORE weight on it.

You think it's the pads? This whole time, I was afraid it was all my fault, but I wouldn't know, because there aren't Extremes around here. What about gallops, crossover streams (the type in AM-3P and AA) and step jumps? Is it garbage there, too?

Let's just saying playing Max 300 SMMM

The same guy told me something about how the rubber is under the pad. Something about the Extreme one is softer (or harder) but basically saying there is a difference and probably is the reason for the difficulty in jacks/step jumps/16ths.

Speaking of pads, I bought a pair of original ones for PS2 from DDRGame.com a couple years ago with my birthday money. (I had also planned to buy a PS2 and DDR Extreme2.) These pads were $10 each on ddrgame.com, probably just a couple weeks tops before I bought them. Then when I went to order them, they were $15. It really pissed me off.

Actually, I'm still bothered that Betson still has an involvement in this. But now everything can proceed as planned. Konami was caught off-guard in SN and placed unlock codes in SN2 as a work-around (the problem is the sched were they are announced). Hooray for DDR X!

You still bothered? From how stupid Betson is from all the things I heard, even Betson distributing sounds a bit worry-some, as if they might f*ck up even that! lol
But nah, I have faith the DDR X machine is going to be the sh*t (in the US)

The light sticks should really be orderable separately, and not not be available at all.
