Starting topic:
My school is out for today due to the power going out. It's really weird. This never happens to us. We've had monday and tuesday off as well. So far, it's been a one-day week. Pretty sweet~

That sounds pretty awesome. Our water main broke at our school a week ago and if we need to use the restroom, we go across the street to peoples houses. 
The street next to the school is a closed because they dug up the road to get to the pipe, so getting out for lunch is chaotic over there.

A pipe burst at an elementary school near me one year and they had no school for some period of time.

This is a good idea for a thread.
Today, I just realized that I have a vocab test tomorrow and I need to ace it. So, I plan to procrastinate and study tomorrow.
Edit: The only incident I have with the bathroom is that some idiot paintballed it to a big frickin mess and we had to use a bathroom right next to the office.

Thats the way to go. Always study last minute, meaning literally the last minute before the test starts.

...my school is lame (in terms of random acts of violence)...
The only random acts of violence we get here are the fights, which i don't even get informed about, oh and TBT is like the "top-notch" school...
...to put it in simpler terms, if we have a fight, EVERYONE talks about it, if another school (say Middleton High School which is right smack dab in the middle of the ghetto) has a fight, it's just another day on their side of high school...
I would say the ONLY time it got crazy was when there was a fight, then another fight involving the same people, than ANOTHER fight involving the same people AND their parents, and then another fight involving the same people AND their parents AND bricks being thrown AND "knifes/guns" involved...this led to the whole school being on "lockdown" and like 20 police cruisers showed up that day (it was also featured in the news!
)
We never get off of school for anything technical/pipes bursting and junk. Only times we ever get off for an outside source is hurricanes, but that hasn't even happened to us this year

Someone once wrote "I'm going to kill the principal" in chalk on the sidewalk of my old High School and they kept us outside (of course, they wouldn't let us go home. Or go talk to your friends because you had to stay with your current teacher/class) for two hours while the police searched the building for a bomb.
It was early June too, and I love in Southern California, so the temperature was easily above 100.

Our school had a bomb threat, I didnt go that day cause of it, but friends told me that it was crazy that police all over the city was there. Our school also had a stabbing last year, made city news

We had a bomb threat at the middle school a couple years ago. The dance for that night got canceled and the police and fire departments were searching all over. Nothing was found, though.

There was a fight this year at my high school. It was upstairs before one block, and the next block I was going to my next class, when right outside the nurses' office there was our police officer and one of the assisstant principals. The police officer yelled to the kid that started the fight, "GET IN THERE! YOU DON'T THINK YOU DID IT? GET IN THERE!" (of course "there" meaning the nurses' office). Thank god there was no bomb threat in my school.
