Import Question

I was wondering how I would obtain a copy of a Japanese DDR game. I'm looking for SN2 or X. I've been looking around the internet and I can't navigate any of the Japanese sites. There's gotta be an easier way. Can someone help me. Please!

Ebay is a good place to look for games that Play Asia doesn't have. It's generally cheapest on Play Asia though, if its in stock.

I should probably also mention that you have to either mod your ps2 with a modchip (which can be dangerous if done incorrectly) or use swap magic3 with either a flip top lid or a slide tool, because of some gay region coding crap they throw in.
There are quite a few tutorials out there on youtube on how to play imports, just search them up.

IIDX Empress is coming out for the PS2. 17 will probably come to the PS3. But i heard playing IIDX on a PS3 presents some lag issues. I suggest you buy an authentic japanese PS2 from play-asia. Their very cheap($179) and they come in varietyies of colors. I bought a ps2 from there and it not only reads disks fast, but it looks awesome in ceramic white. I also suggest going to toysnjoys.com. they also have a wide selection of japanese bemani games, systems and other merchandise thats worth looking at.

Yeah, but usually, it always comes out for the PS2. a PS3 IIDX release will probably not be for a couple more styles, mb 18, we'll finally see a PS3 release. But your right, the CS release of empress will not be for a long while.

They will have to make every IIDX game on the PS3 in 2010, because that's when Sony is officially retiring the PS2, from what I've heard. They could do it earlier than that but I don't see why they'd want to. Moving to the PS3 would require them to completely redo the game from scratch, because the PS3 doesn't even have the same chip that the PS2 used to run the games (not the new PS3s that is). That's a LOT of work lol.

Anyway, is the PS3 region protected at all?

Not for games and blu-ray movies I believe. I know if it has ps2 compatibility, it's region protected depending on what region is yours and same applies for normal dvds.

I don't see why, either. People can still play them. Konami won't remake the entire series just because there are so many.
