"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana" |
http://bmf.i-revo.jp/zektbach/nyoa/index.html
I sent Zektbach a mail a week or so ago basically asking him to make some songs for DDR ;D. To my utter shock, when I happened to glance at the blog, I saw "Derrick" there and my letter was actually printed! The best part? From what I read (it is really hard to read because he seems to use a lot of onomatopoeias, and strange Katakana words that seem to be places?), he seems to say that he might write a song!
He also complimented my Japanese. Thank you so much Zektbach, you just made my day!

Hahaha, Too many exclamation marks btw looks like you're a little girl. I don't really see Zektbach styled songs coming to DDR though, the style is just too IIDX-y. Tomosuke is probably bogged down with releasing his album and with Dormir for Popn 17.

Also: Blind Justice worked well in DDR, and ZETA worked well in Pop'n. I don't see why an original Zektbach song would be so strange for DDR.

I thought Blind Justice's chart was pretty bad. ZETA and Shamshir no Mai worked for Popn because they do, IIDX songs work with popn and vice versa just because they're so similar. Zektbach songs always have to have this epic feel but DDR needs danceable songs and I don't think the Zektbach alias really goes for that.

What, Blind Justice had one of the best charts in SN2.

Holy crap! Pie may have saved DDR!
Original Zektbach content in DDR would be awesome.

Which part of Blind Justice are you referring to?
Also: one of the reason I would like to see artists like Zektbach and Nekomata Master make original songs for DDR is precisely for the "They don't seem like DDR artists" idea, because:
1. More variety is good, and Zektbach-ish songs (and Nekomata Master songs too) are practically non-existent in DDR.
2. It is very interesting seeing how BEMANI artists change their styles to accommodate each game. Mr. Saturn (*cough*wac*cough*) noted in the comment for Saturn that it was kind of nice not having to think about each sound being keysounded to a button, and that kind of "free"d him a little bit. Although he did note that by the end of the song, he was cramming in those sounds anyways
.
But anyways, when I listen to a lot of the songs from SN2/HP2 made by traditionally Non-DDR artists, they is something just so uniquely "DDR" about them. Whether it's the happy-bubbly songs like Freeway Shuffle and A thing called LOVE, or more "mellow" sounds like Saturn or Dreamin', just listening to them makes me think "Oh yeah, this works on DDR". There are very few wac songs that I think could work on DDR (It still seems strange to play murmur twins or Make A Difference on DDR to me), but Habibe and Saturn just seem to flow perfectly.
...If anyone gets what I'm saying, yeah.

Which, as it just so happens, are the only ones he's made for DDR.

Wow, Pie, that is so awesome!!
It's really exciting being able to communicate with the BEMANI composers like this~
Blind Justice was perfect in DDR, I also feel Apocalypse ~dirge of swans~ would do well; I'd love to see some original Zektbach in DDR.

I think that Blind Justice's chart is remarkable, because it seems to follow the song emotionally rather than just on how the song goes. Normally, I hate stuff that follows just how sections SOUND, but Blind Justice is a must-play for me when I'm on an SN2 machine now.
Important Edit =O: Apparently a post below it is humorous, so DM Ashura tells me. He says the first part is:
Nyaa nya! Nyaaa nya nya.
Nya nyaa, nya-nya nya nya!
Nya nya nya nya, nyaa nya nya nya nya-nya!
Nya nya, Nya nya nyaa nya.
(From Neko no Nyaa)
And Zektbach's response was:
Nyaa nya! Nyaa
Nya nya nyaa nya nya nya nyan nya?
Nya, nyaan nyan nya nya.
Nnyaboo!
Nyan nyaronyan!
And what's important about this information? Zektbach is a furry. *victory pose*

Well the whole "Nyah" thing is probably because the cat character, "Noah", is the one who writes all the blogs :3.
By the way, if anyone wants me to write a mail to someone for them, I'd be happy to do it :3.

So, if we see a song from Zektbach is because of you. Perfect, you ended being influential.
Now go send some letters to Des-ROW and tell him to make Hip-Rocked songs for IIDX.
