During my visit to Taiwan I came across a Rock Fever 3.5 cab and Rock Fever 5 cab in the Kaohsiung Tom's World and fell in love with the button layout.
When I see a new game usually I can bet on someone archiving info about it, but in fact it seems hardly anybody (in the English speaking realm anyway) knows it exists, or will mention it as a footnote of games that have been made. Not even IGS advertises Rock Fever on their website anymore.
No cab pictures, no measurements, no song list, just scant gameplay footage on YouTibe and a few home cabinet owners who stream. (At least that I could find)
I recognize Rock Fever is similar to O2jam with the button layout, while also being similar to EZ2DJ with the foot pedal, but I really liked how the game presented itself. I liked the silly song selection, I liked the really comfortable button layout, and RF3 in particular felt super responsive and easily readible. It may not have much content as a series, but I prefer how it feels to play compared to something like IIDX or poppin.
I'm curious to hear if any players of the game are still around, when you last played it, where you still play it, etc.

I've never heard of it before despite knowing about a fair few IGS games (they made a system kinda like the Neo Geo MVS which used interchangable cartridges). Looks fascinating. Trying to find more info but coming up with nothing but a fairly small namuwiki entry.

Honestly first and only time I heard about this game is when seeing it in B2L store - https://www.iborntolead.com/product-category/arcade/rock-fever/

Yup, they used to have one in Trocadero back in the day it was one of a handful of odd music games to play. I don't think I was good enough at music games to have a full opinion of it but I recall it having similar music/artists to those of other korean music games. Would be great to see it turn up somewhere else though to try it again with a modern viewpoint

Been wanting to play that game for quite a while. Never seen one down in the US.

Actually, that was my introduction to IGS. I've played Fearless Pinocchio at a local skating rink. I know the game itself was a little childish, and I've even played it as a teenager, but I still loved it because it was a fighting game.

Oh dang this is the first I'm hearing of fearless pinnochio, was that the only arcade shovelware they did? (As in, stuff you won't find in the IGS Arcade Collection?)

FistTalks is spinoff of Fearless Pinocchio, but with rock paper scissors gameplay.

Somehow I have managed to stumble upon this thread from looking for a EZ2DJ B2L controller review.
I've played Rock Fever during its heyday, most of the songs are HK pop songs from the 90's to 2000's era. During that time I remember alternating between Ez2DJ, EZ2Dancer and Rock Fever (IIDX too but there wasn't as many cabs available). I'm from Malaysia and it was common for major arcade places to have this cab
I have played from Rock Fever 2 ex, 3, 3.5 and 4.
the 3rd and 4th installment in my opinion was the best in the series.
My favorite part of the game was the versus battles, you would constantly get challenged during peak hours and there would usually be players who weren't capable of playing with the pedals and it wasn't unusual for players getting aided by friends just handling the pedal part
