If you have a backward compatible PS3, can you plug a Red Octane Ignition 3.0 pad into the PS3 via its USB connector and play PS2 DDR games that way? Do DDR games work via BC at all?

On a PS3, I have no idea, but on a PS2, I know for a fact that it will not work.
