I want to get some graphics from SN2 but so far I have looked everywhere and nothing. I looked all over the net and I think it's time to ask people who know. Anyway, is there any programs to rip images from SN2? If you know some, can you help me out by posting the link. If there isn't a program is there an alternate way? BTW I have already got some screenshot graphics. But if you can help me out, a really big thanks!

This thread had someone asking for something similar, but no one replied... Just figured you ought to know there was already a thread for something like this ;)

it just frustrates me that my only source for graphics is screenshots. and screenshots are only taken by Konami when a game is coming out soon. i guess i will just have to keep looking for a graphic ripper

I've heard Bemedia mentioned in other threads, but don't know anything about it myself. Search for it.

It takes a somewhat greater than casual interest to accomplish this. Last I heard, the games still stored images as crushed PNG's, so you'll need to get those using something like BEMEDIA Ripper, and then use PNG Crush or whatever to make them usable. I'm not the most knowledgeable on the subject, however.
What are you looking for? It may be easier to emulate the game and then take screen shots.

Depends on what error message you get for the emulator. Note that the games emulate at something atrocious like 5 FPS, making them completely unplayable.
Also, you'll need a dump of the game, you can't insert the disc and read it that way. At least, I've never done it that way.

I have played around with Artic's idea before. I've managed to emulate Dancing Stage SuperNOVA on my laptop and play it at about 15fps. I took a single screen of the Konami logo just to see if it worked and it did but I was emulating in the worst size and quality so the fullscreen image looked slightly off.
I may try again at some point but even if I got the graphics I don't have the theming knowledge someone like Takuya has to do anything decent with them.
Also the banners appear all garbled and if I remember rightly wasn't there a topic on DDRUK about a method to unscramble them or something at one point?
Worked fine for me with Dancing Stage SuperNOVA...

Yeah, so don't mind me on that one, I've never actually tried it that way.
The most reliable emulation of these games is to physically run the arcade image on your computer. This is a pretty intense task, however, and you cannot play the games (at least, 3rdMIX and beyond), but they look fine and can be used for screen shot purposes. It is substantially more difficult to run them like this, however.

Also Artic am I right in remember you off Bemanistyle or DDRUK for posting Extreme 2/Dancing Stage Max rips or something and making a comment about how the rips didn't come out like they look in-game for some reason?
I was always very curious about that because either its the rip method messing them up or the game somehow changes how the graphics look in real-time.

Theoretically yes; they can be emulated. But practically, no. The emulators are just that; approximations, and they cannot run the game at playable frame rates.

any emulator you will find will have some sort of problem running games, especially newer ones. Its because computers are just not the same as consoles.

im pretty sure it's just that video game consoles can handle the rapid image loading unlike the computer. that's just my guess
