Hello everyone! I have been working on collecting BG scripts that use the MAX-EXTREME videos. I searched a couple of threads (mainly the BG Scripts thread that can be found here: https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/thread?threadid=4519&&page=1) and I think I have a fairly complete list of all the scripts that are available.
Before I continue, I want to send thanks to several members that created a majority of the scripts that are in this spreadsheet. Thanks to Scrap Rabbit, DarkFeline, and JM GAMING for 98% of this spreadsheet. I also want to thank GreenGhost21 for the MAX-EXTREME videos that were posted.
To use this spreadsheet, I have an updated folder of MAX-EXTREME videoes that should be added to the RandomMovies folder. The MAX-EXTREME folder should be placed there to ensure that all these scripts work properly (thanks to GreenGhost21 for organizing scripts this way).
I am hoping to keep this spreadsheet updated and maintained as new and updated scripts become available. I did a fair amount of editing to get older scripts to work with the current simfiles on ZiV. If there are any errors or issues, please let me know and I will get the issues corrected. I hope you all will enjoy the (hopefully) easier way to access all BG scripts that are available.

There is a pretty big thread of them here already, yeah.

I have finished my spreadsheet of BG scripts for a lot of official simfiles that are out there. I will eventually be included scripts for SuperNOVA and SuperNOVA2 soon but this is a good start. If there's any issues with this spreadsheet or the new folder of videos, feel free to reach out to me. I hope you all enjoy!

Is this synced up to be used with the official simfiles that you can get here or for the audio from beware's DDR Extreme simulation? Because I had to get the audio from beware's simulation along with the .sm files on my setup.

These scripts are synced to the current simfiles located in the ZiV database.

I like the idea but this needs a lot of work; It doesn't account for songs that have different scripts between games (e.g. Groove on DDRMAX compared to DDR Extreme/MAX2 US). Also some of the ollec2004 scripts have mistakes such as We Will Rock You pointing to ring9 for... some reason, instead of wheel7.
Over the year I will try to thoroughly go through this and bring all of the DDRMAX AC-DDR Festival scripts up to speed. I also need to provide an updated addition pack for beware's pack because I rendered all of those reverses/cuts with a problem where the first frame of each clip actually lasts for two frames (and pushes out the final frames as a result).
Could I DM you my google account e-mail so I could get editing permissions?

Absolutely you can DM me! Also, I do agree I should differentiate which scripts are for what but I am not that knowledgeable about what scripts were for what game. That is something I can certainly go through later.

Hey all! I made some updates to the sheet today. I added missing scripts that were available in Bewear's Extreme. I also needed to fix the script for TSUGARU.
Because of TSUGARU's script change, I needed to update the MAX-EXTREME video pack. The new link is available in the first post. Enjoy!

Began to fix some songs and add ones that were missing. The ollec2004 are really dreadful because not only do some of them use names that are outdated, but also a lot of them have the looping digit as "0" instead of "1"...
And I think this does actually cause videos to only play once before freezing on certain StepMania versions, which can be annoying.
I need to make a better version of the patch I made for beware's videos... some of the scripts I fixed have videos that I'm not sure that everyone has, such as light7r and bluey1ar.
Append: I replaced all instances of "grid1.avi" with "grid4.avi". Under no circumstances are you supposed to refer to grid1.avi in a script. Because nearly all instances of grid1 in 2003-2005 scripts expect grid1 to be the long video, but in beware's 2005 pack, and in the old version of DDRMAX3, it is the short video. They don't agree with each other. It's a compatibility problem mess.
I know some of the official scripts are not actually referring to grid4 such as DIVE TO THE NIGHT so I'll run those through a fine-tooth comb and then we should be set on that front.
Okay wait hold the phone and... there are clips in there that aren't actually official DDR videos such as "betogether1/2", "nurse1/2", "cats1"... They look good, but... I think they need to be put in some kind of separate folder. I don't think beware would appreciate these custom clips being mixed in with official ones. And about the ones I have in my HD-remake pack, I'm also uncertain if those should be so easily mixed in with the others. "text32" could collide with some other custom video, for instance.

i found out that in the previous version of the pack, grid4 was wrong. it's made by combining grid1 and grid2, and i changed grid1 so that made grid4 wrong. grid4 is in fact the same as grid1 (it is grid1a + grid2) now so you can copy it from grid1. the current pack has this fixed.
grid1 has at some point in the past been the long video (grid1a + grid2), but there's versions of it which are the same as grid1a (the short video). in my 2005 pack it is the short version. in max3 (a fan made simulation) it is the short version. so i think someone made grid4 to resolve the ambiguity (grid4 is *always* the long video)
almost all scripts i have (for paranoias) refer to grid1 and expect it to be the long video. my script for HVAM refers to grid4 (and expects it to be the long video, so this is correct)
i think if one needs the long video one should refer to grid4 and not to grid1. and for the short video one should refer to grid1a - one should avoid grid1 completely.

The betogether.avi files are from Dancemaniax. Where did they get those random movies?

I'd ask Scrap Rabbit, they're the one that made the Be Together script in the first place.

Hi all,
I have created the BGCHANGES for Paranoia Respect;
(This works on Project Outfox but I can't confirm if it will work on older SM 3.9 due to the 10% speed on some of the videos)

Some videos in MAXX Unlimited stop looping, maybe it's because of the numbers?
Also the slowdown at the middle has only one speed change instead of the 5 it currently has
275.750=MAX-EXTREME/snow4.avi=0.800=0=1=0,
284.500=MAX-EXTREME/snow4.avi=0.250=0=1=0, (I *think* this is the correct beat)
286,000=last frame
somewhere between 286,000 and 286,750, it picks up where the last frame left but it goes really fast, I think at 2.000 speed before moving on quickly into wave2
If I'm not wrong, it has the wrong frame at the stop, and I think it should be this one instead
The one it has in the repository has the frame of a different snow clip

Thank you for this! I'll check it out and see if it runs on 3.9 since that's what I primarily use. I'm not familiar enough with Paranoia Respect's video. Is this official or custom?

Some videos in MAXX Unlimited stop looping, maybe it's because of the numbers?
Also the slowdown at the middle has only one speed change instead of the 5 it currently has
275.750=MAX-EXTREME/snow4.avi=0.800=0=1=0,
284.500=MAX-EXTREME/snow4.avi=0.250=0=1=0, (I *think* this is the correct beat)
286,000=last frame
somewhere between 286,000 and 286,750, it picks up where the last frame left but it goes really fast, I think at 2.000 speed before moving on quickly into wave2
If I'm not wrong, it has the wrong frame at the stop, and I think it should be this one instead
The one it has in the repository has the frame of a different snow clip

Not me bringing old threads back to life. Thank you so much for these resources. This spreadsheet has been super important and helpful for me in my quest to add all the bgs to my music. In regards to that script: has it been updated yet? There are many songs from the home versions that aren't scripted in the spreadsheet. Though I know that at least MAX, MAX2, EXTREME AND EXTREME 2 home verisions* should have scripts and avis as well.
Quick note: Tsugaru's bg script isn't working on 3.9. Idk how to edit or make bgs or anything. All I did was cross reference the videos I have in my RandomMovies folder to what the script requires and I'm basically missing all the necessary pngs. Cuz it starts playing random movies after 96.750. Unless this script is incompatible with 3.9. Then I'd need to find a script compatible with it.
Another quick question: where can I find the videos for games after EXTREME 2? I've gone through several threads and all the links are dead. A few peeps have made github repos but either they have nothing or their links are also dead. I was wondering (and I've brought this up in another thread), is there a way where we can consolidate all this info? I think the spreadsheet is actually a great idea, but like idk? Add all the bg scripts to the sm files and make an official archive for the site to download? Cuz I have researched at least 20 hours into this this week alone. Maybe add the spreadsheet in the archive so that people can change the script if they prefer one from another game? (Example, I prefer EXTREME's bg for Rhythm and Police than the one for MAX US home version). I'd totally do it, honestly I spent this whole week just editing all the sm files that had bg scripts for them. So basically MAX to EXTREME, Including the home versions, but I don't have the time...
I know it's alot to ask for. I've had my stepmania for ages and even though I've played it alot I never bothered with getting the bg scripts because I knew it was going to be a massive pain in the ass. I've had my copy, some files, since 2004. Some songs don't even have sm files, they have dwis still. (I'm surprised they've survived this long, tbh...). Which is why I've avoided doing this for at least 15 years. I wish I could offer to help write or edit scripts but idk how to do that, and being a mom of two teenagers, I hardly have the time either.
I really do appreciate all the work that has been done so far, you guys are rock stars, fr. Thanks to all of you again.

I recently re-downloaded the simfiles from the Ziv database from 1st Mix to Extreme and applied the scripts from the spreadsheet to get the videos to work. What I used to do is that I copied the audio and stepchart files from beware's DDR Extreme simulation into my installation of Stepmania.
When I started playing, I noticed that the videos for some of the songs are not looping when they're supposed to and it's got me worried that other scripts might be doing the same.

It could be the version of stepmania you're using. I'm using 3.9 because I prefer the themes for it, but the problem with that is that 3.9 doesn't know how to read some bg scripts properly. My example would be Tsugaru. It plays the majority of it correctly, but there's a certain part where it has to do some crossfading and it doesn't get it right. It just ends up using a random video instead of the one it's supposed to use. I say "crossfading" just as an exemplary term, that's not what it's actually doing but you get the jist. The script is just too elaborate for 3.9 to read properly. That's just a theory of course, I have zero idea what could be going on in your case.

I just checked the spreadsheet and some of the messages on this thread. The only scripts I used are the ones marked as "Official", including the ones made by "ollec2004" that have the looping digit as "0" instead of "1" and it hasn't been changed until now.

Began to fix some songs and add ones that were missing. The ollec2004 are really dreadful because not only do some of them use names that are outdated, but also a lot of them have the looping digit as "0" instead of "1"...

In 3.9, the videos will loop regardless if it's 0 or 1, making it pointless. However, this isn't the case for all versions of Stepmania.
Considering that 3.9 is widely used for script making, we tend to ignore the loop. You'll either stick with 3.9 or change every loop to 1 manually.

Ello-hay! This is a great repository! ...but I should point out an error, Groove & Groove 2001's scripts are backwards.
