This is certainly a choice for Xbox. I mean, I have an Xbox and I play this series, but I play it on devices that already had it before this as a result. The Venn Diagram of Xbox owners and people who will play this on Xbox can't have a lot of overlap.

Oooh, it's also on Game Pass, so at least I can give this a try before I wait and see if it comes out on Steam.
Well, we're off to a good start already. I guess this game has always online DRM, because you can't get past the start screen without signing in to a Microsoft account.... even though I'm already signed in.
I re-signed in, and it's still saying I haven't signed in to the account.
You know, most games have a sign-in screen you go to when you first launch the game. Why doesn't this have that?
I've restarted about 5 times now, and nothing's changed. :/
Update: There's a fanmade patch you can apply here: https://github.com/Fluto/Taiko-no-Tatsujin-The-Drum-Master-Patch
Once the game updates in the future, hopefully there won't be a need for it, anymore.
There's no way to change the resolution, from what I can see, but it plays fine, so far. (My only other experience with Taiko was with the PS2 game, to be fair. )

Now that I've played a few songs, this game is in rough shape; I've noticed there's screen tearing, even when I forced vsync on, and like I said earlier, there's no way to change the resolution or refresh rate ( I think it might be forced 720p/60?), so it would get really hard to see the notes, especially if a song is at a high BPM. It doesn't look like this game was developed/ported by a third party, that I know of, so I'm hoping this will get fixed, over time.

Game Pass has been trying to give Japanese games a bit of a push recently, what with things like the entire Yakuza series getting put on there. Here's hoping it's not a catastrophic failure like when they tried it with the Xbox 360. RIP, Blue Dragon.

I wanted a certain song in the store, but I refused to buy it a few times it was in. But after paying 1,000 plus a extra 3,000, I finally bought it.
