Two questions. Right now, my courses are just scrambled in a mess. Is there a way that I can sort them myself like how you can sort the song wheel?
Also, I noticed that for every song, it only plays one RandomMovie every time that I play the song. For example, if I play Air Heroes three times, I always get the same BG dancer vid every time. Is there a way that I can change it so that a different one can play at any time? So, instead of Rage_Stage06 playing every time, I want random ones.

I don't know how to sort the courses. If anyone knows, please share.
As for the random movies changing, here's what I did:
1. Fill your "RandomMovies" folder with videos of the DDR Supernova dancers only.
2. In edit mode, add one random movie at the start of the stepchart. Other options such as speed and fade is entirely up to you. Save.
3. Open the .sm file inside the song folder and rename the random movie into any file name that is not present in the "RandomMovies" folder. It can be any word or any gibberish as long as it doesn't match any exact file name. And to be safe, the extension file name should be there (i.e. .avi.)
4. In Stepmania, go to Options > Background options and set background to RandomMovies (but I think you already did that)
5. Reload songs
6. Then give it a go. It should pick any movie inside the "RandomMovies" folder since nothing matches the one in the script.
EDIT: There's another simpler way but someone correct me in the first step because I'm basing this in memory.
1. Go to your Data Folder and open the stepmania.cfg file (or whatever it's called)
2. Delete all bg scripts in the simfiles. It should be blank (i.e. BGCHANGES:;)
3. Set "NumBackgrounds" to 1. Once you do, do NOT go to "Background Options" in stepmania because this will reset to 5.
4. Give it a go. By default, this will pick one random movie from the folder and then start (usually) when the first arrow is in the step zone, then will be replaced with the song background once there are no arrows left. However, some versions of Stepmania have options to remove those issues, making it completely similar to DDR Supernova onwards.

Use SM5.1 beta2. This build added 1 as another NumBackgrounds option.
Alternatively, you can forced-set any setting by adding any Preference.ini settings inside Data/static.ini.

I'm trying to accomplish something similar. My random movies folder is filled with AVIs that go with the Beware Max-Extreme scripts, while I intend to put 4th and 5th Mix style into BGAnimations for use with the scripts posted for those styles of animations. For any song with no BGChanges, I'd like DDR Supernova/X style dancer vids. Is this possible with having both video folders filled with files? Do I need to ask Stepmania devs for a 3rd Option? Or is there a way to tell it which 1/5/10/20 Random movies to load for songs without specific video instructions?
