[VR0's edits] Initiation

From IIDX Cannon Ballers, I create a simfile called "Initiation". Test it on DANCE mode, and use pad controls.

Note: Use DDR X levels. Credits to original autor for jacket, audio and BG video.

Unfortunately, this simfile simply isn't competent. Though I've played only the charts, both the single and doubles charts seem to rely almost exclusively on poorly thought out 8th note streams. (Plus, the freeze arrow sections seem to be offbeat with the music.)

Nevermind that, the whole file is totally offbeat. I didn't bother measuring exactly how off it was, but it was off by at least an 8th note, possibly more. It's not just the one section.

But yeah, the entire file lacks the fundamentals of what people look for in a good simfile. There's steps that don't actually match the rhythm of the song, there's lots of sloppy double-stepping patterns, and as I said before the whole chart's sync is off.

Had to tweak the offset to -0.150 before judging. I reckon you start the steps at the first beat of measure 1 instead of the third next time.

Also, imagine yourself playing this simfile on a pad. Normally, a proper chart would have both the left and right feet move at ease give or take other body movements. It didn't seem to be the case here, hence the "double-stepping"-- needing to move from one step to another uncomfortably with one foot.

The freezes would also need some consistency as well, particularly on which part of the beat they end.

I'm really curious, what did you actually fix? The offset is a little better now, but some of your steps are way out of place.

Alright, so I thought I'd take a look at this and see what major changes need to happen. There's a lot, so I'll just give you a general rundown.

1) Change the artist title
2) anything in red needs to be fixed so that it flows well
3) anything in blue is repetitive and has issues throughout. You also have a very long freeze section that, in a 14, doesn't really fit.
4) anything in orange or any arrows drawn in mean you need to switch those arrows to where they're drawn in
