I still have this nagging feeling it's a timed exclusive on Switch, and a PC version will come out in a year or two.
No clue what's the difference between this and WaiWai Party besides having MVs now.

Update: Using Google Translate, the big things I could decipher are that it has a story mode, and the game now has better support for horizontal screens.

like
- ad libs are dead
- beat, scratch, and diagonal slides are dead
- new 'square' note type where you hit the l or r button
- there are now red and blue notes and you have to hit one note with the left hand and the other note with the right hand
- there are ex notes like in chuni
- there are combination notes which are like you hold the note with one hand but then you still have to tap on the other hand

Yeah, this is a full-on reboot of the series with a new setting and new notetypes

Why do I have this inevitable feeling that Taito wants to kill this game once and for all?? A game from scratch/reboot is a bad sign, a really bad one. Remember Reflec Beat??

The thing is the AC series is no more, so this seems more like a retooling of the game to switch to CS-based releases, I doubt they want to kill GC considering how much money they still make from WaiWai Party

I think rebooting it with controls and an aspect ratio that better fits console controls makes a lot of sense and is something I'd appreciate, speaking as a former Project DIVA fan who hates using the arcade control scheme on a controller—jury's still out, but I haven't seen anything that screams "oh god this game is DOA" yet.

No ad-libs sucks though.

Nobody has been talking about this?? I was under a rock this summer and didn't realize this came out, but I'm pumped to see more Groove Coaster at all, instead of the franchise being abandoned.
