Stepmania Foot Pad Streaming without Copyright or Godhood

I like playing stepmania casually with a dance pad, and I thought it'd be cool if I could stream my awkward dancing over Twitch. However, when I tried to do so, one of the DDR songs got muted during the stream.

I want to avoid this from happening again, but I can't seem to find a list of songs that are allowed and not allowed on the twitch website. I would avoid the problem by getting new songs altogether, but a lot of custom or original tracks made for stepmania are either made for those with extreme skill or keyboard users. They might also be copyrighted, which would defeat the purpose anyway.

Does anyone know of a good way to stream stepmania without getting in trouble? I don't want to be banned because of my music being copyrighted or something. However, it would be kinda fun to show off my basic skills to my friends over the net. But at this rate it might not be worth it.

As a rule of thumb if the song is not a Konami Original then you can't use it.

Annoyingly, this happens on YouTube as well. I can't watch a video of Arrabbiata from SN2 because for some reason it's blocked in my country...

Except even some Konami originals (like Freeway Shuffle) can get muted on Twitch. It's trickier than that... unlike YouTube, there isn't an easy way to actually search for whether the track is subject to a claim or not (i.e. Twitch auto-mutes the track).

It's even trickier because what gets blocked on YouTube isn't necessarily muted on Twitch, and even some tracks that don't get a copyright notice on YouTube can get muted on Twitch (I'll throw BRILLIANT 2U (Orchestra Groove) as an example).

I think he means simply that if it is not a Konami original song, then the copyright thing might be triggered on Twitch, but I wouldn't know. I mean I don't know how that wouldn't be tolerated, but Staiain can go play Stepmania on GamesDoneQuick no problem.

I don't have the confidence to say what songs would be tagged as copyright infringement and not, but I know there are other streaming websites like Hitbox and even Youtube. Again, I don't know their policies, but so far, my mate has played anime and video game music on Hitbox without a problem. That could be a possibility to take, but again, I'd rather hear everyone else's thoughts first.

Oh, so I'd have to use only songs from a game like 'Konamix' or something? I think that one only has Konami Artists on it. Still, that'd severely limit my music options.

I've heard of HitBox, even watched it a few times, but there's no denying that Twtich has more users, plus that's what all my friends use. Might be a bit difficult to get them on a different platform. But ... I guess it's an option.

I am curious if there's any fan created tracks for stepmania that are open to use and easy to play with a pad... If there were enough of them, I'd be content with that.

Avoid anything from the US home version of DDR SuperNOVA 2 and Hottest Party 1. Those soundtracks were put on iTunes a long time ago with help from Sony BMG, and Sony decided to put the songs in them on YouTube's automated copyright detector.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I think my next step will be trying to do it over hitbox. I tested OBS Studio with it and a basic game and it seemed to work. If this doesn't work then I'll either need to dig up some original fan music, or weed out the tracks that get muted through your lists and maybe some trial and error.

So... if any of you guys want to check out the stream and tell me if the music goes out later today (if it doesn't get too hot) then I'll be here.
