Okay, so here is my really long story.
In December 2009, (about 5 months ago) I bought an Afterburner Metal Dance Pad from RedOctane. I really needed a metal dance mat because I had gone through about 10 plastic and foam mats in the last year or so. I did mass amounts of chores and convinced my parents and was able to scrape together $200. When it finally came, I played on it and it lasted about a week or two until my right panel stopped working. (I also had cleaned the panels that day and wondered if the issue was from cleaning them as well.) I figured it was just the panel and thought about ordering a replacement. I tested out the panel by switching it with the left one, but turns out, that made both sides malfunction. I then used the warranty and was able to get a second mat, but RedOctane never sent me a call tag to send back the broken one, which I still have in a box in my room. I played on the replacement mat for a while and it did give me issues with the cable. My down panel would always die, and the only way to get it to work was to push the cable that connected the box to the mat in further. I eventually was able to get that under control by adjusting the metal adaptor with a pliers which held the cable in. When I played DDR today, I hooked up the mat, but the down completely went out because the other side of the cable on the control box was loose. I tried to tighten it by twisting the adaptor, but that made things worse as well. I took the cable from my old mat out of the box and got my replacement mat to work, but I would really like to fix the other cable. I wish there was some way I could tighten the adaptor and still get the down panel to work again. If this does not make sense, I can post pictures or videos up.
My parents think that I'm causing my mat to screw up, but I don't play any higher than 10s, and the Afterburner; from what I here can take the hard 12 and 13 footers. Please help me out!
