DDR HOTTEST PARTY 2 (Wii) (Europe)

So what's SingStar Hottest Party 2 EU like then Al? Near carbon copy of the US version aside from the title screen and box art or is anything different, i.e. 'missing'? I'm guessing the game is in American English with no extra European languages like Hottest Party?

Also I have calmed down a bit, my vet gave me some jabs so I'm fine... for now...

There's absolutely nothing new in the EU version of DDR HP2. Other than MARVELLOUS has two ls, the new logo in various screens. There's one thing missing though.

The D.A.N.C.E. video. They have actually removed it.

It cost one music video to insert one letter into Marvelous. Letters sure are expensive these days.

Did D.A.N.C.E. have a video on HP2? I don't remember it having one.

Seriously? Cos the data exists on the disc. Maybe due to licensing issues, it was programmed not to display at all.

I don't own the game, but every gameplay video I'm seeing shows D.A.N.C.E. with no video. Someone check maybe?

And Xavious, I didn't see a language option, I think it's something to do with the Wii System Language which you have to set on the Wii Settings.

nope i have the game and it show only the dance routine
but another DDR/DS game has DANCE cut different with the video

Ah so the Wii does that? I didn't know. I'm so used to seeing the language option while starting up the game or in the Options menu I didn't think it would be automatically selected based upon your system language. So are the alternate European languages still included then or haven't you checked Al?

Also the lack of a background video doesn't matter as much on a Hottest Party game because of the much better dancing character system and HP1 never had any so it's less of a shock not seeing it. I still think they should have released this game under the Dancing Stage name for clearer relevancy to it's predecessor and to finish off the current Dancing Stage games in better style. The sudden change is rather jarring and would be confusing for players who don't follow the series as closely as us. So far the changeover has been a bit of a mess.

Hopefully Dance Dance Revolution 2009 will spark the start of world wide same day releases for a proper 'same game in all regions' like what Konami began with SuperNOVA.

The box says at the back: English, Deutsch, Francais, Espanol, Italiano.

Yeah, Al. D.A.N.C.E. only has its video on Dancing Stage Universe 2, and AFAIK (which isn't much), it's exactly the same steps with different ratings.

Also giving Konami one final chance. If they mess the next release up, I'm moving to Andamiro, and staying there.

It's bound to happen. No need to wait for the next release.

The problem is Dancing Stage/Dance Dance Revolution is my favourite dancing game and Konami does tend to make great games when they get their asses into gear. Dancing Stage Max, and to a slightly less extent, Dancing Stage EuroMIX , EuroMIX2, Party Edition and Fusion prove this. Most American and Japanese releases are also fairly solid, generally more so than the European ones, it's just that Konami cut their own throats by bodging up such silly things like release dates and licences that it ruins it.

With DDR '09 I want Konami to finally get it right. Give us all the same game on practically the same day. When we had our own unique releases and different licences it was more understandable, I didn't mind waiting as much, but now that the game is going to be the American version in PAL format there really is no excuse.

THE DS UNI2 steps are different. They're also rated a 6, yet much harder than the HP2 chart, which is already enough to warrant a 7. That means it's just as misrated as Akiba Drift.

Sadly, this is still a pipe dream. Knowing how they've been behaving and the expensive licenses on DDR '09, I won't hold my breath.

Aaaaanyway, found HP2 on sale as a standalone in Sainbury's for £25. Did I buy? Did I bollocks.

Just read through the manual. First half is English and second half is Spanish.

They got most of the UK words right, with the exception they put center instead of centre. Other than that, there's nothing telling players that Dancing Stage is now DDR.

From what I've gathered, and from seeing the start up screen of an NTSC Harry Potter videogame, Spanish is the one language developers tend to include in US region games other than American English. Regardless looks like a near copy-paste of the American booklet to me.


On the former, they always tend to do that, American English is the REAL English after all...
Regarding the latter, what did you expect? This is the reason why I wanted Konami to finish off the current Dancing Stage series' like Hottest Party before the changeover.
