i really would love to try this theme, but i don't have to correct version of sm. closes i have is sm5 preview 3. is there anyway this them will work, and if so is there a way to make it so that it runs with little to no errors on loading screens or something like that? do it put it on event mode or something like that XD.

Absolutely not (as indicated by the "Stepmania AMX Only" part in the thread title). In order to use this theme, you need Stepmania AMX and this version only. It somewhat works with 3.9+ Redux, but for best appearance and performance you need SM AMX. If I can recall there is a link somewhere in this thread to download that version.

ah i understand i couldn't find the link earlier. and then i just found out that the creator of AMX stopped giving support for it.. and not only that someone said in this topic that there's only a few lines different of code.. that's the only reason not. sorry if me asking a question set you off. but alright. i'll see if i can find another way to download AMX then try downloading this theme.

I made a custom patch for 7121DSP, since he requested those changes.

It includes a quick fix for doubles crashing, the real Beta 3.2 patch will have a more polished fix. It also has the following new metrics:

ArtistPrefix=Artist:
StepMakerPrefix=Steps:
GroupPrefix=Folder:

so you can finally remove the "Artist: " prefix that have annoyed you so much

Don't forget to add those metrics "as is" in the default theme, and with the changes you need for the DDR X2 Theme

Any other needed fix please leave a message here, since I have been absent for almost a year its really likely that I will release any small patches needed, since I don't really know when the real Beta 3.2 is going to be released.

by the way, SMA is intended to be a REDUX update, rather than a PIU-only based version like many people have misconceived, if something is screwed up about Courses, Battle or Endless please tell me.

On the other side, replacing splash in Data\splash.png is not needed, you can instead place it in Themes\DDR X2\Graphics\splash.png and enable it via StepMania.ini:

Sorry if most goodies like this are not documented, the "redux patcher" actually disables every new feature to get the nearest behavior to SM+ Redux, but unless there is a new feature that really screws up the game, its recommended to run the default patcher instead.

I'm having another problem here with the theme, for some odd reason I can't get past the screen where you select Music or Course play. I'm on music play and I keep hitting the select button on my keyboard and nothing happens. If someone can PLEASE help me with this, that would be great because I'm really started to freak out here.

Okay, I PMed the maker of the theme yesterday about the problem and (like I thought) it has something to go with the metrics file for this theme. She also said that she couldn't fix the file to not have the theme to do, but thank god she gave me the solution. For that screen and the select style screen, you need to wait about 10-20 seconds then hit the confirm button, which I did and it worked. If you should thank anyone it would be her, and not me, as I was just passing along the message for other to know about.
