Good to know! I'm... actually glad it was that easy, haha.

I just installed SM5 on my computer and I have everything else installed (and the DLL), but when I try to open it, it gives me this.

Can you post any errors from the log files?
No one can really know what's wrong unless we have some log information.

Where do I find the log files?

Googling around about the 0xc000007b error message you got brought me here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/96035692-9a50-40d4-a7d3-48bda87d11ec/the-application-was-unable-to-start-correctly-0xc000007b-click-ok-to-close-the-application-when?forum=vssetup
That page seems to suggest it has to do with the some of the DLL files that beta2a wasn't packaged with, msvcp110.dll and msvcr110.dll
In your StepMania directory, in the Program directory, do you have those two DLL files? Be careful, the DLL files in there have really similar names and it's easy to misread them.
If you do have those two DLL files, did you download them yourself? And, if so, from where?
Either way, try getting new copies of those DLL files for your Program directory. Here are the links. Both of these will take you to SM5's google code page for that particular DLL and there will be a link that says "View raw file." right-click on that link and save-as. That will download the DLLs for you.
msvcp110.dll
msvcr110.dll
