So I spent some time on the open beta and I'm leaving a few things about what's good about it and what's wrong with it. Since the game is due in a couple of weeks there isn't room to upgrade the servers or rebalance the heroes.
The Good
=====
* Graphically, the game is a stunner, even on minimal settings.
* The game is well-optimized
* Plenty of heroes to choose from
* The shooting is surprisingly right given this is Blizzard's first effort at an competitive FPS, and headshots do matter in this game
The Bad
=====
* There's some cheap-ass ultimates that can make easy play of the games (Reaper for example)
* Balance may be questionable (Crowd control skills such as McCree's flashbang always win)
* Bastion is OP
* 20Hz tickrate in official servers makes for inconsistent netcoding. It's not as bad as Battlefield 4 at launch day or especially the Treyarch games but it's nowhere near Source Engine's 64-66Hz on TF2's official servers and CSGO's matchmaking servers.

Very fun, probably one of my favorite FPS games in a while. The negatives you bring up are there unfortunately, but Blizzard got a surprising amount of things right imo. The movement, aiming, and mechanics in general feel a lot smoother than I had expected. Recommended for sure (especially if you have friends who'll play too).
