Im slightly confused at the info Ive found
But if anyone can clarify
Drumania XG Has 232 XG charts and 604 DM charts
Drumania XG2 Has 335 XG charts and 636 DM charts (this is my uncertainty)
Drumania XG3 Has 484 XG charts and 0 DM charts
So effectively XG2 is the best overall for the most charts?
And can also work without E-amuse (minus the any unlocks that require it)

I'm assuming that by "DM charts" you mean "Classic Mode charts", in which case yes, XG3 got rid of the entire Classic Mode, so theorically there are less songs in XG3 than XG2 overall.
Konami has since then revived many of the songs that didn't have XG charts, although they still have a lot to revive.

Yup I ment classic charts.
I would look into a newer machine but the whole e-amuse thing is a nightmare.
I presume an offline mode has probably been 'patched'
But I wouldnt want to go through the effort of sourcing a machine to end up with something unusable.
What happens to old Gitadoras in Japan(and other bemani e-amuse games) where the e-amuse service has stopped?
Is it essentially a waste of space untill the upgrade to a Gitadora thats supported?
So far my contact has offered me a Taiko rip off lol.
Ill see if he can source XG2 for me, I guess

There are certain “cut offs” for games when it comes to e-amuse. For example, IIDX and Pop’n became dependent on it with Tricoro and Sunny Park respectively. For those series, Lincle and Fantasia would be the highest a machine could go without the service. I think GF/DM became dependent on the service with the “GITADORA” line/reboot.

You can run up to XG3 (and V8) without e-amuse. You'll miss most unlocks of course. Is it essentially a waste of space untill the upgrade to a Gitadora thats supported?
GITADORA onwards require e-amuse to run, and newer versions are distributed as online updates, so in Japan GITADORA machines are running EXCHAIN right now (unless an arcade decided to keep XG3/V8 or earlier).

Cheers thanks peeps.
Ive put out feelers for
XG2
pop n music 20 fantasia
And Lincle.
I would consider a PIU but my bones probably cant tale it no more lol.
But a bit off topic but do any of the newer ITGs have online issues?
Just checking......
The original Gitadora (both drum/guitar versions) will be useless unless right? Due to E-Amuse being both required and switched off?
Is there any 'work around'? Even if it means just the default songs and no 'live' songs?

Yes. Technically, the original GITADORA no longer exist. Unless there's a critical hardware change (see Cannon Ballers and Vivid Wave as an example) newer games get downloaded through the eamuse system. If you were to get your hands on an original GITADORA, I'm sure it wouldn't boot, as it would be looking to connect to servers that are no longer running that version. The game would need some kind of offline patch and an official Konami one was never made, one would have to be created.
