O_O wow, missed this thread...

The two locations have now been added.

so can i safely say that it has already been released? Problem is that i don't know the exact day of when it got released...can someone find this out for me please?

also see if the online mode is turned on (or if it doesn't appear on the AC, ask the attendees or whoever knows about the machine to see if it is turned on). Thanks a bunch! Happy

EDIT: So the shipping date has been rescheduled to mid March 2009, but it seems that America is getting a taste of it before a worldwide release...

I may need to see if the version number has been updated from the last version number to see if it is still the same machines from the IAAPA (that one convention), or if they are brand new dedicabs.

We have PRE-RELEASE software.

The version was some odd number like

0.3.24 (Pre-Release) <- Yes, it says (Pre-Release)
Feb 20 12:45

Bacon got a pic of it. The cabinets overall are nice looking. The LED's look better in person. The only issue is the Premium Song deal. Our machine was set to about $1.60 for 1 song, 7 Additional swipes per Premium Song. So basically, we had to swipe $1.60 SEVEN more times to play a Premium Song, FOURTEEN if you were doing 2-player. This was fixed later. Operators can set the Premium Song price. One other thing we noticed in the Operator menu- Audio and Video lag calibration. Why would you need that on an arcade game if they should all be set the same? Guitar strummers seemed a little stuff as well. Overall, small song selection but for someone who doesnt play GH religiously, it wasnt too bad.

UPDATE: First US Location confirmed to be in New Jersey at the AMC/Lowes Theater in the Jersey Mall Gardens.

Proof.

Late as hell, I know, but apparently what I heard about that location it was a Beta testing location or whatnot. I did a rant about it on my blog the week the came out, but I wasn't impressed with it at all.

Huh...a "pre-release" version patch...interesting Tongue

Anyways, i think the logo that i have in the front page is not the "official" logo as i am seeing from the machines, the font is different than the GH's font...if i can get this logo and replace it with the new one, that will be great =D

So....the nearest place to me with this game got their "pre-release" software upgraded to:

0.4.9 (release candidate 4) March 13, 2009

There appear to be a handful of new guitars available, and the following songs now appear on the Set List:

Motorhead
Jukebox Hero
Peace of Mind
Yellow
No More Sorrow
Monsters
This is a Call
Pretty Handsome Awkward
The Arsonist
Hole In The Earth
Almost Easy
Surfing With the Alien
For The Love of God

12 of them are from GH3 DLC, and 1 (Monsters) is from the original GH3 Set List.

They are spread out in the tiers, 1 or 2 in each tier.

So since this is still not the final build I sure hope there will be more stuff added.

EDIT: Correct version number and new song additions.

I was there earlier today. Machine was on, plays like GH3. Only took pics of logo and side panel, as the machine was kinda crowded.

GH AC logo reminds me of some of those ol' school shooter logos.

Yeah that would be the same/similar font used for Defender.

"F***ing exhausted."
so a local arcade here got a machine with the latest build(had jukebox hero, etc), and here is my take-

no hyper speed = i wont play it again. they include it in home versions, i use HS4, and they expect me to play no HS here? no.

the controller is terrible. its big and clunky, it hurt my hands trying to handle the frets, and before anyone comments on that i'm 24, not a child. on top of this, there is WAY too much resistance in the strum bar. i played talk dirty to me, a song i have -1 on at home, and i couldnt down strum fast enough on this piece of garbage to keep a streak going on the chords.

HO/POs are GH3, way to easy. i FCed TDTM's solo on no HS by mashing it out from muscle memory. yeah, the HO/POs should have been GHWT or GHA style. thats just nitpicking, but rhythm games should involve rhythm after all.

it might have just been the one song, but it was synced late. i noticed about 10 notes in, atleast it was consistently late though.

good things to note is the cab is nice, and even though i hate it, the way the guitar is built its obviously quite durable. the game looks pretty, and the animations are pretty smooth. the song list was very solid for a beta build, so i would love to see what the final build looks like. if they add HS, i'll adapt to the controller, if not i'll just ignore this.

I don't see why many would pay a dollar a song to play GH3 anyways. It's WAY too expensive, not to mention those "premium" songs.

Surfing With the Alien is the only song worth paying a dollar to play at the moment.

I actually don't think the final version is bad at all. Granted it's only 75 cents for us per song and a $1.50 for premium content so maybe that's part of why the deal doesn't sound as bad to me.

Strum bar DOES take getting used to, and so does the spacing on the frets (I miss the click, though I know why it was changed). It also doesn't help that our machine still needs to have it's timing calibrated as practically every song I've played is early, and that really gets in the way of songs like Almost Easy Expert. Lack of Hyperspeed doesn't bother me since I never use it, but I can see that being an issue for some folks.

A lot of people have been playing it and not just the GH elites either, so it's definitely getting attention around here. IMO, it's got issues in places, but for what it is, I like it. I'll probably be playing this quite a bit even though I own GH3. I'm in it primarily for whatever DLC they come up with on it.

For those of you who want hyperspeed, maybe you should try pressing OBOYOBOY on every screen (as long as those buttons won't trigger something else)

Yeah, some people complain about the controller, others just play the game and do fine. (Maybe Im fortunate that our machine is calibrated properly)

Updated the front page with the version number, but in what Tier are the songs that you listed on?

Uh, more like:

Half of setlist, with a thrid of the bonus songs mixed in...plus 12 DLC songs if you have the newest version installed.

Wow, so they are now starting to pop up most of everywhere then...

...gotta see if any arcade in Tampa has it >_>

Anyways, Ashura96, what were those bonus songs you listed under? (As in, what Tier was it in?)
