I just wanted to know how to put the files on a USB for arcade use. Should they be in a "Songs" folder, or just in their mix folders? I was trying on my own version on the PC, and it hasn't worked yet. I can't find the answer anywhere, even on their forums.

After you plug in a USB for the first time, a folder marked "In The Groove 2" should pop up. In that folder are 3 more folders, and one of them is a Songs folder. That's where the songs go, AFAIK.

So if I have a flash drive with college stuff in one folder and ITG2 as my other folder, and have a folder called songs in that where I keep my simfiles, I will be able to play my simfiles at an arcade?
Thanks so much for the banner Lord Toon! And for the icon Dan!

Yes, a stock r21 will only read the .sm and .ogg file, nothing else. So if you have .dwi files or .mp3 files they will have to be converted first. Google an app called SM2ITG to make this easy.

If you want to play long songs there is a tool that tweaks the .ogg files to make the machine think they're only 1:45 called the OGG Length Patch tool. If you have an r23 machine then anything exceeding 2 minutes will get cut off, whether they're patched or not.

Anything exceeding 5MB will not be playable, and you can safely assume that only about 30 songs at once can be loaded from your USB drive. The official limit is 50, but slower devices time out and won't load all of them.

"H:\In The Groove 2\Songs\MAX 300\Max 300.ogg" and "MAX 300.sm"
^ or whatever your flash drive is

you can just create the folders before going to the arcade.

Just a hint:

You don't need to have the songs in a specific group as usual, i.e:
X:\In The Groove 2\Songs\DDRMAX\MAX 300\

You can use that, but x:\In The Groove 2\Songs\MAX 300\ is enough.
