Harmonix just put up a Kickstarter for a new sequel to Amplitude. The goal is $775,000.
Features:
* PS3 and PS4 exclusive, with Cross-Buy.
* Will run on the Rock Band engine.
* 60 FPS, HD.
* Will still have the "hallmark difficulty" of the original Amplitude.
* Will have single player and local multiplayer.

Of course this glorious work of art comes around the one time I don't have any money in my PayPal. I'm a bit disgruntled by this.

Harmonix is streaming the original. They're also giving out $2 PSN codes in chat.

Alex Rigopulos, co-founder of Harmonix, is doing an AMA on Reddit. Most of the questions asked are about this game.
They also posted a list of artists that will contribute to the game if it gets funded.
Bump 5/20: It's in the final 3 days, and they just added a limited tier at $35.
Unfortunately, it's US only. (EDIT: It's already all gone, and apparently it's only for the people who donated $35.)

Two $7,500 backer songs were revealed so far: Insomniac Games is bringing Crazy Ride, their 20th anniversary song, and Autumn Games is bringing Unfinished Business, also known as Big Band's theme in Skullgirls Encore.
