"Too many themes on my spare time" |
Last updated: 2021-12-07 03:07am
A new project. Presenting a recreation of GrooveNights into Outfox.
Features so far:
* Level System
* Judgment/Combo Sizing
* ITG Grading weights (ITG timing is not yet there)
Considered in the future
* Implement Judgment skins (using 5.3's Appearance subdirectory)
* Implement Easter Eggs
* Add Judgment breakdown (Requested by users)
* Add MS median (Requested by users)
For now, you can try the theme right here: https://github.com/JoseVarelaP/SM5-GrooveNights/
But please make sure to use Project Outfox for the time being, as it uses Modules for faster loading of single use scripts.
-------------
NEW: Temporary Global Offset
This global offset bar acts as a temporary edit for those players who feel like the current song is off and can't access the operator to change the global offset.
This acts as a temporary bar, so when a selection is made, it will be applied for the rest of the game session until it is over (Game Over, Reaching summary, Backing out to menu). Once the game is over, the original offset set for the machine is restored for the next session.
+ System Clock
It is a clock. That's what it is. Shows Date, time and year on a 12 hour cycle.
-------------
New Updates have been done to the theme:
* 3 New Percentage Displays
These change the way that the score is presented to the player. More information about these (along with code for use in other themes) can be found on the wiki: https://github.com/JoseVarelaP/SM5-GrooveNights/wiki/Percentage-Displays
These DO NOT change the weights of the score, they only change the way it is presented to the player, and thus, on certain scoring formats like Flat Scoring, during Gameplay and upon reaching Evaluation, the real score will be shown. On Gameplay it will be shown as a second, smaller percentage below the Format Score chosen.
* HighScore, Offset Derivation and Arrow Breakdown
ScreenEvaluation now has an extra panel. On the second panel you will find information like the ammount of arrows hit per column, your late/early offset different on every note, and the 10 best scores achieved on the current song.
If you happen to achieve the top 10, your score will be shown glowing in yellow.
* Speed Indicator in Player Options
Requested by the community, it is now shown like SL, being Speed (SpeedConversion)
* General fixes to USB/Local Profile saving (These now save to a file called GrooveNights.save).
* ITG Timings are now forced.
* Level Calculation is now stored temporarily to free space when done.

Thank you for this, Jose_Varela! This looks like a fantastic recreation of, and improvement on, the classic ITG theme by PeekingBoo.
I'm confident the post-ITG community will be grateful for your efforts here. I know I am.

I see a Pulsen noteskin in the screenshots for this theme. How did you get them working on SM 5.3? And could I give them a try on my SM?
