HOTELS:
These are all within literal walking distance of the mall, and right next to the Round1 entrance of the mall. Of these, I'd probably lean a little more towards the SpringHill Suites since they're a bit cheaper than the other two and specifically mention an airport shuttle. Free breakfast too! -

These are all viable too and right next to the mall, although they're right outside of normal walking distance (less than 1 mile). I know the Embassy Suites offers a free shuttle to the mall.

AIRPORTS -
The Dallas Fort-Worth metroplex is serviced by two major airports - DFW (the main one) and Love Field (the smaller one, located closer to downtown Dallas). DFW is incredibly close to Grapevine Mills (approximately a 5 minute drive if traffic isn't involved), to the point that a lot of the hotels in the area have complimentary shuttles to and from the airport. Love Field is about a 20-30 minute drive to the mall, and you can't get there by public transit, so if you fly into Love Field, you'll either need someone to pick you up or pay for a Uber/Lyft.
Love Field is essentially only used for Southwest flights (it's HQed here) and Virgin flights. If you're flying any other airline, you'll be flying into DFW instead.
NEARBY FOOD:
Within the mall itself, there's a Rainforest Cafe and a Chili's alongside a standard food court. Within the mall's parking lot (and within walking distance) are a Chipotle, Chick Fil A, Steak and Shake, Whataburger, Applebees, Blue Mesa, Fuddruckers, and probably more that I'm missing. There's even more stuff right off of 121, so there's no shortage of food options.
ENTERTAINMENT:
In the mall itself there is an indoor aquarium, AMC movie theater, and a Legoland. Downtown Grapevine isn't too far away either. There's a Great Wolf Lodge close by if for some reason you want to hit up a waterpark in March. Downtown Dallas is about 20 miles away, and there's the Perot Science Museum, Klyde Warren Park, art museums, Dallas World Aquarium, and Dealey Plaza. Downtown Fort Worth is a similar distance, and they have the stockyards and Sundance Square.
ALCOHOL:
You can purchase beer and wine in Grapevine, but liquor sales are prohibited. I think Lewisville is going to be the closest area where you can buy liquor, which is about a 10 minute drive off of 121. Liquor stores only sell to 9pm and are closed on Sundays.
Bars can serve until 2am.

I like how the picture is based on the DART logo. Genius.
...Even though DART can only get you up to the airport where you have to Uber, Lyft, or taxi the rest of the way. TexRail won't open until late next year. So close yet so far.
I hope I can get some of my friends to take me there. I also hope that the second machine stays, so that I can do the lower division.

You know what they say, everything is bigger in Texas ;)
Pretty hype, though the dates may be a bit conflicting on my end...still potentially viable, I just have to square things away and hope for the best. But if all goes through you know damn sure I am coming to this
