Dancing Stage fans eagerly awaiting a Wii version can now rest at ease as their wish has finally been granted. Featuring over 50 tracks spanning some four decades of music, there’s a huge variety of tunes for players to strut their stuff to. Thanks to the compatibility of the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk, a whole new dimension has been added to Dancing Stage Hottest Party. Total body interaction is now possible during the game using the twin controllers and it is now possible to have four player simultaneous play to really get everyone involved. It is also possible to send obstacles to rival players in the Battle Mode using the Wii Remote and a well placed swipe! There are a host of new modes focusing on the multiplayer element to ensure that the Dancing Stage experience stays fresh for many months to come. New gameplay twists and a host of entertaining mini games complement the main dancing action and offer a different challenge to expert players. The phenomenally popular Workout Mode from other versions of Dancing Stage is here again and players also have the opportunity to customise their own dance steps in the Edit Mode to make bespoke routines a possibility! With only half of the songs available at the start, the emphasis is on the players to practice and perfect their skills as there are a huge amount of unlockable bonuses in the game from the extra songs through to new computer player challenges and new outfits. * Over 50 songs from the last four decades of music * Total Body Interaction using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk * Four player simultaneous play * Workout mode to help you get in shape * First Dancing Stage title for Nintendo Wii * RRP £49.99 including Dance Mat! |

Never thought having an extensive unlock system would be a marketing point, but there you go...

Hello, cover versions! Wait a minute...over 50? Didn't the US version have 50 exactly?

Well Konami seems to like giving Europe extras when they get the game late, just look at Metal Gear Solid 3!
And now it should hopefully be easier to step the songs

It's very likely just going to be the True Love remix. No others.
And the Konami site is still using the US screens, as it does with DS Universe, so no surprise there.

So wait, we are getting edit mode and the Americans didn't? Surely we should be getting less than the US unless Konami are either being kind to us or had more time to finish it for our release. I'm guessing the latter.
Perhaps good things really do come to those who wait. I don't mind waiting longer if it means we are getting more.
I would have betted on us getting exactly the same songlist as the Americans as well which was no gripe with me, but this idea of "over 50" actually meaning we get some more is somewhat positive. How many songs were in the US release then altogether?
This would also have an interesting effect on the simfile packs because you'd have a Dancing Stage Hottest Party pack with just the one or so extra songs for our version.
Also looking at the picture of the game title on the official site I actually think for once the "Dance Dance Revolution" one suited much better. The Dancing Stage text looks so small and out of place for once, and I wished they could have made it a bit bigger or something. It just doesn't look all that great to me...

US had 50 songs, Japan had 50/51 depending if you counted the Lesson by DJ (English version and Japanese version) as two songs or one.

First time I just went through the main site link and clicked on the DS Hottest Party banner and it worked. At the time when I tried the specific English link it didn't work though.
Just tried the English page link again and it seems to be working.
I'm looking forward to this game more than any other recent Dancing Stage release for some reason. I really like I lot of the covers though I know a lot of people weren't too chuffed about that.
Now I just need £49.99 to buy the damn thing. Real shame I can't use the USB connectors on my two foam padded mats...

Yeah they fixed the site a while back, I just didn't mention it here in case it broke again. XD
I'm looking forward to this release a bit too. I don't mind any of the cover songs, none of which I find particularly annoying.

This isn't the first time that Konami are (possibly) giving us more. Remember with SN1 PS2? We got the online songs free. Though whether we'll be getting more songs this time round remains to be seen. As I've said before, it'd be nice for Pluto the First, as we're not going to get the other Plutos...
