"Working On: 5thMix BGA bgchanges" |
Hi all,
Just wondering if it's possible to have the guidelines that appear in edit mode visible in normal gameplay? I'm just curious as I'd like to add that as a player option as that's available in A.
Hope someone can help me out, I think it'd be very helpful for people who haven't played much before.

Yes, it is possible!
All you have to do is to add this to your theme's metrics.
This will enable the beat bars, but it will not show anything else such as bpm changes, stops, speed scrolls, etc.

Perfect! Is there a way to make that a player option you think or do I have to bake it into the metrics? Now that I've got the name of it I'll look into it more. Thanks!

This was going to be a function in SN3, it requires metrics to be reloaded when enabled/disabled.

Ah, I've done that in my theme actually for loading metric changes, so I'm assuming there's no way to toggle for 1 Player and 2 Player? It's either all on or all off?

Nope, bars are for both players, to do it like sm you need some playfield tricks or redo the bars via lua

I'll look into this during the week. If I can come up with something I'll make it portable so others can use it in their themes too.
I'm currently just trying to mod the A theme to support all the arcade features. So this is to add the "Guidelines" player option. Inori doing the script to allow 4 way movement on the song select screen made me want to pursue this stuff.
So far I've got the DDR Selection stuff working, I just need to get the assets to make it look right. Also parts of the star system haha. Though that one is a little trickier. I think I can eventually mod in the "Adventures" but that will take some doing as the unlock system in SM5 is a bit annoying to work with.
I'll put up my changes when they're ready to go so everyone can have them in their theme.
