"Just Play Along" |
I want to make myself a simulation of DDR 2014 in StepMania 5, and I want to organize each group folders songs the same way they are organized in the arcades. From what I've read so far group.ini's can do this, but I'm not very familiar with such things. Could I use group.ini's to organize the order of songs per series folder? If so how? If not, is there any other method?

I already tried using #SortList_Front and Rear, no results.

Never heard of the group.ini method.
There should be a file in the theme called song preferred sort or something. There's two files with similar names, so try both. This is the format:
---In-Game Folder Name
Actual Folder/Song
Actual Folder/* (if you just want them in ABC order)

I tried that method, but that gets rid of the series group folders, which I want to keep. I simply want the songs in the folders to display in a specific order.

That shouldn't get rid of the group folders. It works fine for me.

group.ini is exclusive only to waiei's SM5 themes but I still have no idea how to make this work.

For me it makes the default screen just the preferred ordering with no folders, and to get to the folders you have to change the sort to the folders with <+>. How did you do it? Can you post screens?Post #10 · Posted at 2015-07-06 06:38:46pm 8.9 years ago

UseSectionsWithPreferredGroup=true
OnlyShowActiveSection=true
HideActiveSectionTitle=false

Thank you very much. That almost gave me the results I want. By almost, I mean that the group that appears by default does not close when I go to another group, which I don't want. Is there any way I can resolve that?

OnlyShowActiveSection=false
I think OnlyShowActiveSection=true is better because it saves navigation time in music wheel ala beatmania iidx, DDR X2 to DDR 2013
