Have you noticed that?? 
This problem is only appear while playing StepMania with "DDR X" or "DDR X2" theme
But it's no problem if playing with default theme
So weird~
So, how to fix this problem? Those DDR X2 simfiles were downloaded from this site

(I discussed this in the DDR X2 PS2 work thread a while back)
Some themes do not respect negative BGChanges before the music. Example, your video is only given 1 measure to load, when it actually needs 4 measures before the music starts.
Realistically, you can:
1) Switch themes
2) Manually fix your theme (unlikely)
3) Crop all the videos manually, perhaps with Direct Stream Mode in virtualdub, and fix the SM files manually (might be even more work than #2)
