I wouldn't be on it but I enjoy watching it.
Same thing with pretty much any other game shows similar to it. I'd rather watch than participate.
But some of the events seemed kinda interesting, like the one where you had to jump into the giant gumball machine (maybe I can find a clip)

If Nickelodeon game shows were not about dumping gross crap all over people, I would take more interest in them. I always thought that they looked interesting. (Minus the grossness, of course)

You had no childhood then. Sorry but that was pretty much the specialty of Nick game shows, if they didn't have the mess, it would just be something you would watch on GSN or something. Nickelodeon game shows were pretty unique in their own stand, the newer version of Figure It Out tried to out beat the messiness, thats one of the reasons why i tuned in, but with the current Nick cast that they have I lost interest honestly...By the way, you know the Nick time capsule they buried at Universal Studios? Its gone.
Good news though is that they moved it to the Nickelodeon Suites Hotel in Orlando, FL so it still will be opened in 2042, and i do hope to be there when they open it. Or if you want to spoiler yourself, just watch the clip of when they buried it live back in 1992 on YouTube.

Implying Crystal Maze is bad. It's just cornier than most Nickelodeon shows, but not by much.
Besides, some of the stuff is kinda weird. I wonder if you're actually locked in or if you just kinda lose. It's weird but awesome.
EDIT: I just realized that probably made absolutely no sense. I meant that:
When you run out of time, sometimes, you get 'locked in', as in the doors close behind you and you can't get out. I didn't know if they actually lock you in or if it's just there for effect.

Yes, I've seen the burying of the time capsule on youtube. Lol, it's sort of sad in a way. We (well...they..I wasn't even born yet) buried it before online video sharing was created, looking forward to the excitement of 2042 when we'd (they) re-open it and sort of re-live the '90s. Haha, youtube is going to spoil it.

It was legit locking in. You remained there until the end of the show or when your teammates decided to buy you out with a crystal.Post #28 · Posted at 2013-01-25 08:21:24pm 11.6 years ago

Oh yeah, Legends of the Hidden Temple was the best. GUTS was also pretty cool, must have been amazing to be on that show.

I absolutely loved Nick Gas until it was rotated out in 2007 (for Dish Network subscribers, 2009) and it got me to love game shows in general. I also had this ridiculous idea of reviving this kind of trend with some other game show random thing that I could upload to Youtube or something. My thoughts:
Every double dare ever: It's alright, but it gets old. There's a NES game of it with awkward controls that would make you want to go to the game show yourself (GameTek, ugh.)
Legends of the Hidden Temple: My brother's personal favorite. Enjoyed it, loved the actual backstories and the end temple quest itself.
Figure it Out: HOLY CRAP SLIME EVERYWHERE
Get the Picture: My favorite
GUTS: Do you have it? If so, go on GUTS. There's a SNES game for it. Controls are also awkward again, just like Double Dare NES. Also, THE AGGRO CRAG!!
I never really watched Nick Arcade so there really isn't much I can say about it. All the Nick Game Shows I can list of of my head are here. Let me know if I missed any so that I can go rewatch it and give my thoughts as I may have forgot something down the line.

I personally loved Double Dare the most. I used to love watching it on Nick Gas. My favorite versions were Super Sloppy Double Dare and Family Double Dare.

Sorry to bump this, but I feel this is important.
Guess what is coming back to TV!
in light of this I found this..
fire up your iPods.

Huh, fascinating. I vaguely saw it a few times in the past, but only vivid memories of what it was like. Would be interesting to see the new take on it if they decide to bring it back.

I liked the fact it was completely about gaming, there wasn't one big game show element combining it together. Just three challenges, reviews, news, cheats and tips, boom, 30 minutes. Done.

That's right ladies and gentlemen! Andrea has returned as well!
Do you guys think I should do a separate thread?
