I just found an user from youtube who changed things in DDR Wii games.
I don't know if he made it from Dolphin emulator
For example, this user changed backgrounds from DDR II to X2, for ZETA, FIRE RIRE and Yellow Candy
He could put INTO YOUR HEART in Hottest Party 3
He modded tha audio, SILVER DREAM to SILVER DREAM Twinkle Mix
He added Desert Journey
He changed the DYNAMITE RAVE Version
The same for FREE
That's interesting.

Oh wow, I always wondered if this was possible but didn't think anyone ever took the time to reverse engineer the Gamecube and Wii DDR engines (the two are the same iirc). Very interesting indeed.

Reminds me a lot of when people were swapping out songs on Empress CS, a few years ago, or when people did the same thing with the PS2 version of ITG. Always fun seeing stuff like this.

Yeah, it same process as how people modded back in the days Super Smash Brawl, changing characters texture, stage and music stages. Also, there was a modded Guitar Hero for Wii. I always been thinking about this, but you have cleared my doubts, so many thanks!

The first thing I notice is that there are no sound effects, just the audio. It makes me think that he just added the audio in post (but then how did he add Into Your heart's stepchart to DDR HP3?). It's more believable for the DDR II videos, because he also imported the DDR X2 vids and made them the backdrops for the dancing stage.
Either way, very interesting.
EDIT: The audio swap videos, he injected the higher quality OST versions of the music into the game.

Interesting, I wonder if there's a way to mess with charts yet.
As a side note, this is my first time looking at the new Dynamite Rave's chart. I didn't think it would be this bad. (Some of the elements are cool though, and I think should have been part of the old easier charts) But I digress...

I imagine editing charts is doable, question is, are the charts compressed using konami's implementation of LZ compression, and if so, can they be reinserted uncompressed and work fine?

Do you just replace the assets or is that a database that has to be edited also?
ポスト #17 · 2018-11-04 05:47:26amにポスト 5.8年前
As a wii game I use this program called Wii scrubber which allows access to the iso's filesystem. The programs allow you to replace files and when you are finished you then rewrite the iso with the replaced files. (Hope that helps)

Wish PS2 images were simple to rebuild, no matter what I do, I can never get the resulting disk image to boot correctly (or at all).
Welcome to the boards, and well done on the work you've done so far.

Yeah ps2 images are difficult i think mostly because of their dvd/cd structure. Whereas wii images are run through optical discs and there file systems are easy to reverse engineer mostly due to nintendo using a file structure similar to the gamecube's

It would be nice to figure out though, as then I could actually have the flexibility I need to be able to modify the filedata.bin file in Ps2 games, and fiddle with custom graphics, sound (without having to overwrite data, I mean), etc. ~_~
