Are you kidding me? This is even harder than Judge 7. I must really suck at the keyboard then, because I could at least "A" most songs on EXTREME AC (up through 9-footers), but yet only get a "C" on Anti-Matter on keyboard with these timings.
This is even easier on my part, especially if you calibrated your Global Offset Setting very well.
Ask that StepMania site, not me. That info has been around for many years already. Those data are based on frames, but not certainty according to them.

Judge 7 sets JudgeWindowScale to 0.5 anyway.

btw @Adamn, does this EXTREME CS patch modify CS timing window to AC timing window? This is the first time I've heard of such.
It modified the code to adjust what appeared to be timing window settings, constricting them to such a point that most players would say that playing on Extreme JP CS was "arcade accurate." I do not know where to find the patch at this point - someone may have it, I know mine is long gone.

just because everyone is posting theories and alleged timing windows, does not mean they're the real thing.
as for the "stepmania judge 6" thing: default SM windows have a perfect window of ~45 ms. if you scale that to judge 6 it becomes approximately 30 ms i think, so it becomes superficially similar to arcade timings. this is "by coincidence".

yes it is possible but you need to change the course list. a course list is used to force the correct order of the courses.

Hi beware.
I'm trying to figure out how to custom sort stepmania song order. I would like to compile all the DDR mixes to look exactly like the arcade & CS mixes in terms of song selection.
Thanks.

i modified stepmania with many patches specificly to simulate ddr extreme arcade. i added the option to define a "default list" of songs (DEFAULTLIST), where you explicitly list all songs in the correct order. you could modify this list in the metrics, as well as the song selection in the songs dir, to mimic ex cs jp, or other mixes that work with such a list. but you cannot exactly mimic the visual appearance (theming) of other ddr versions because that would require different patching of stepmania.
after a lot of work and improvements, the beta of beware extreme r3 has been released, see the opening post.

Oh wow this got an update. Been using this thing a lot at events and it's always great to see improvements.
I have to say the thing I really appreciate most is that you took the time to script all the BG Animations. I can't even imagine how long that must have taken...
But my favorite thing about your custom build is the ability to have a small, default song list, while still being able to have a complete collection of songs to choose from. As someone who sets StepMania up for parties and events, it's nice for beginners because they seem to be overwhelmed by 2000+ songs to choose from. Being able to still put your custom songs on this, while still being DDR EXTREME is really cool as well.
The simpler, 'EXTREME' options menu is great too, because beginners end up screwing up their gameplay and the main game through the default 'Stepmania' options menu.
This build is just really nice for a large group of people. Pretty much the ideal build for events or arcade machines. Really, thanks for taking the time to make it.
So, heh. Kind of a dumb request, but since I have a lot of ITG friends, would it be possible to get a build with roll support for their songs? XP If not that's fine. No big deal~ They can cope with DDR only songs, I'm sure.
(Really my ideal build would be 3.9+ with your DefaultList values... Wish the SM team added that in, but what can you do? ww They've moved onto SM5 now.)
And choosing "Sync" made the game crash for me, but I went back to get the error and it worked fine, so no problem I suppose. :U
Anyway, thanks for the update and all the work you've done on this! It's really nice to use.

how did it crash? what kind of error? screenshot of it? logs? if you have nothing like this, what do you still remember about the crash?
if it happens again, preserve the logs (they're in the root dir of the simulation) and make a screenshot of the error.
edit: using it at events? do you have any youtubes where it's being used? i'd like to see that.
edit: if you have a patch in unified diff format that adds rolls i'd like to add it. if it's anywhere, it would be in SM 3.95 (which is the ITG build of SM 3.9)

This simulator is awesome!, it's just what I've wanted for years.
I have a problem though, I can't get the extra stage, I AA the final song in heavy and nothing.
Can I get some help?
