I'm guessing it's designed for those of us who don't have an arcade nearby? Oh wait, that only applies to areas outside of Japan, and you can't pay for tickets without yen...

True, but most locations without any arcades in Japan at least have easy transit towards them. (The only place I can think of without any arcades and no potential transit is probably Miyako, an island that I visited a long time ago, but there's admittedly not much there in the first place) I still say a system like this would be at least slightly more useful in the US since all the local settlements are highly spread out and we don't have an awesome transit system like Japan does.

Ehh... Konami's making it loud and clear they don't want anyone outside of Japan playing SDVX III "CS". Why else would they force you to pay with Paseli to even use this game? I know there are people here who are willing to jump through a bunch of hoops just to play it (as we've seen with some people doing that just to play Infinitas), but those guys are in the minority, you know?

Unlike Infinitas, though, this game doesn't give you the luxury of letting you access all the features by just paying with a Japanese credit card (AKA, using BitCash if you're outside the country). Here, they flat out tell you up-front that you're going to get a bare-bones experience unless you pay for those ticket packets.

As I've said time and time again since Infinitas announced that monthly subscription service; we have had games from as far back as 2004 with DJMAX Online/02Jam that got by fine with being free-to-play and their revenue coming from having to pay for additional song packs/cosmetic items. Konami took quite a few steps back in comparison to those ancient-yet-more-fully-featured-by-comparison games.

What baffles me is that Konami got it right with jubeat plus and REFLEC BEAT plus. Every single other time since then they've done a mobile/PC version of their game, they've messed it up somehow. (I feel especially bad for INFINITAS players, because one day when Konami inevitably shuts down the servers for the game, all their progress over the years will be completely worthless.)

SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS e-AMUSEMENT CLOUD's payment plans are both jokes. The ticket system is pointless unless you're willing to spend near 4500 yen for bonus tickets (and handle the confusing set-up to pay for such a thing), and the monthly system for the gimped as hell "free" mode is probably one of the biggest jokes I've ever seen Konami do with a BEMANI title since the pop'n music Wii game.

DJ MAX, Taiko no Tatsujin, and Project DIVA all have actual, real home console games/ports in this day and age. I wish Konami would join them and stop pulling this half-ass, online required, PC-only, PASELI-laden crap already.

PASELI is literally the worst thing that's ever happened to BEMANI. Period.

#1, it's konami. if they have paseli why would they make the payment option anything otherwise
#2, anyone can buy paseli. just buy bitcash from SEA gamer mall and then put it in your konami account.
#3, the tickets are the exact same price as arcade credits. which, if you ask me, is a pretty good deal considering all of your scores and unlocks transfer between eacloud and AC. plus you get to play standard and blaster start (neither of which exist in the US)

i don't understand why people are still expecting konami to pander to non-japan countries in 2017. it's KONAMI. it's not going to happen unless they very badly want it to.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking along these lines. Yes, it sucks that PASELI based features are blocked from JP BEMANI games that are at Round1 (I've always been under the impression that this is because of whatever negotiations Round1 had with Konami to be able to have the games here in the US, but I could be wrong on this), but at least we HAVE them. And if PASELI (or some other equivalent) didn't exist, how would we be able to pay the fees necessary to play the eacloud games? The only other option is a Japanese credit card, which I have a feeling none of us have (except for the users on this site who live in Japan). Also, Konami could very easily have implemented IP blocks to prevent non-Japanese players from playing easily (I hear a lot of Japanese MMOs like to do this), but yet, they've chosen not to (though I still admit I'm surprised this is the case for SDVX).

Personally, if I lived in Japan and went to arcades regularly there, I would have signed onto PASELI once it started being supported by games (before it was required for extra features), since I don't like carrying around a bunch of coins.

One other thing, all MMO like games (I consider the eacloud games to fall into this category) have limited lifespans (some are just ridiculously long). All of the time/money invested into these games will eventually be gone. That is no reason not to play them. If you enjoy them, play them.

Probably because Konami has "pandered" to non-Japanese countries with their Bemani games (i.e. Paseli features are all included with a regular credit in the Korean version of IIDX, and I would assume the same would apply to the SEA/Korean versions of SDVX as well).

Also, free-to-play MMOs are very popular, period. Heck, in Japan, you have Phantasy Star Online 2 (which, funny enough, has IP blocks, and you need ARKS-Layer to access the game outside Japan, but I digress), where you have to pay an optional monthly fee for exclusive items/extra storage/etc. A pay-to-play game like Final Fantasy XIV is a dying breed by comparison.

Also, keep in mind that the only reason Paseli even exists was because of Japanese regulations (in other words, Konami didn't get the full profit from a regular credit, so they invented this system so they could get 100% of the profit every time someone paid for a round that way. In return for that extra money, the player would get extra features). There isn't a need for Paseli anywhere other than Japan because of this.

I will give them credit that the unlocks you have in this "home" version transfers to the arcade version, but it's absolutely useless if you live in, say, Tokyo, where you're within walking distance from the nearest arcade (and as I've mentioned earlier, you have all the songs in the arcade version rather than just 300 in the "home" version). It's near impossible to defend the ticket system because, as I've said earlier, it ruins the purpose of playing the game at home. Like you folks mentioned, it costs the same as a credit in the arcade version, so again, why would you want to pay for just one round of an inferior version of a game that you can play at the arcade for the exact same price?

There's a difference between "We need the monthly fee to help maintain servers" and this being a desparate cash grab. Konami could have very easily made this game (and Infinitas) similar to Rock Band where you got a bunch of songs on the disc (or in this case, the .exe file), and you could have paid for DLC packs containing songs from newer versions. Unfortunately, that is clearly not the case. The fact people find what they are doing "fine" is a bit worrying because it could mean other companies could follow this model of business in the future if this is successful. At least with Infinitas, you only have to play a monthly fee to play as many times as you like...

ENDLESS mode was added on the 6th. The songlist is the same as ONLINE, and it seems to consume tickets per song? (Not sure on this, but I can access the songlist without having any tickets...but can't play any)

There is no story progression, and the SDVX Station is not accessible, but packets and blocks are earned as normal.

Nope; it was merely a mention they added Endless mode on their website. I'm guessing it's more of a survival mode where you keep playing songs until you lose. or run out of tickets. So it's not really endless mode. Confused

Is there any way of getting new NEMSYS crew members in this version other than with those PUR from arcade? It's the first time I'm playing through the missions (no SDVX in my country) and from what I assume, it would be easier to down the HP of bosses or whatever I encounter by having more members?

Hello, I'm considering getting the PC version of SDVX, because I'm going to move overseas this month and obviously it'll be near impossible to play the arcade version.

So I have a few questions about the game.

- Is the controller bought from the official Konami site the only one compatible with the PC game? Would it be the same for controllers from third-party sites such as gamo2?
- What are the pros and cons between Regular and Infinite mode? (Especially in terms of pricing and # of songs)
- Is it possible to transfer my arcade data to the PC game?

I really hope SDVX IV songs come to the PC version as well.

To answer your first question, from what I know, the official controller was only available to those who pre-ordered it from Konami's site, and I don't believe you can get it otherwise (unless maybe Play-Asia has a few in stock, but I highly doubt it). The good news is that the third-party controllers (i.e. the Virgoo Turbocharger, etc.) should work just fine, as long as you have a program like Joy2Key or similar.

Infinite mode is not worth the monthly subscription, from the sounds of it:

Yikes. Yeah, there isn't an R1 anywhere near Winnipeg (the only one remotely close from there are in Illinois. ^^; ). Sad

Then your best option will be, as I've said earlier, downloading K-Shoot Mania and finding sites that have the Sound Voltex KSM files, if only so you can practice the songs as many times as you want instead of draining your wallet trying to get good at a chart.

Or you could just do both; play KSM for practice, and then play SDVX III once you've gotten the hang of the songs. On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd recommend that, if only because giving Konami your money could/will make them think they can get away with forcing people to pay-per-play at home in their other games. That, and you'll have to use BitCash to pay for the game.

At the end of the day, however, it's your call.

Another question: If I do play on the cloud version, would it still keep my data from the arcade version up to date? Considering the two versions are linked.

Like, if I play the cloud version, would it register the time played as my most recent time played like in the arcade version?

I'm asking this because I'm getting concerned about my data. I don't know how long it'll stay preserved during my absence, and I'm not in the favor of losing all that data I made myself singlehandedly the past 5 and a half years.

I don't believe that will happen, especially if the last time you played the arcade version was SDVX IV; the data that you have should be tied to you eAmuse account (I don't think they would allow you to link/un-link your card to your account if that wasn't the case). A ton of people would not be happy if they suddenly lost their data if they couldn't play for a year+.

Then again, I don't really know for sure. ^^;
