The Japanese chain of arcades has opened their first Connecticut location as of March 9th, 2024, inside of the Danbury Fair mall in Danbury, CT. This location features arcade games, crane machines, bowling lanes, billiards tables, karaoke rooms, and a food service counter. It does not include ping pong, darts, or a Spo-Cha section.The arcade is located underneath Dick's Sporting Goods with three entrances; two located inside the mall, and an outside entrance. Indoor entrances: second floor entrance next to Dick's Sporting Goods indoor entrance, first floor entrance right below Dick's. Outdoor entrance: Located between the Macy's and L.L. Bean Entrances. Their rhythm game section can be found closest to the 1st floor indoor entrance, slightly ahead and to the right.
Due to CT's "blue laws", alcohol service will end at 11 AM each day.

4 months agoDogman1227Tried out a round of the drummania cab, Definitely need to spend time tuning the timings as I felt the note were off a bit. However it's nice having a a working set of Gitadora cabs.

9 months agoDogman1227Haven't been able to talk to the mechanics, they haven't been as active on the floor when I'm around. No other movements in regards to arcade hardware has been made, so I again imagine at least one unit is going into the spot behind the spongebob VR game, but I'm gonna try to sleuth some info from management or mechanics this week.

1 year agoDogman1227I did check and it does appear they are up and running with network connectivity. One was frozen on registering a new account, but I imagine it'll be good come tomorrow.

1 year agoCardiaI can't speak for Drummania but I know DDR cabs update sequentially one update at a time so it'll take a day or two before it gets to the full World update

1 year agoDogman1227Went over there tonight, and its still on A3, and either way, the pads are better for timing on the white one over the gold on at least for P2 side to me. Maybe its the break in they need to have happen, or maybe screws need to be loosen, as it wants to drop freezes if you don't put enough weight on the arrows. I was doing better on the white one than the gold.

1 year agoDogman1227Both Drummania and GuitarFreaks cab are on Galaxy Wave, and I got word that there's a Gold DDR on its way to this location, alleged to be coming all the way from Japan, suggesting a possible brand new cab...but we'll see.
1 year agojac238With the SF 6 cabs, I remember the Nesica reader on the far right cab not working, but the one on the center right cab functioning.
1 year agoYuuuuuuuumeNoticed a bit of an issue with Nesica-based things just not scanning (in the case of the fighting game cabs) or just not authenticating if it does scan (Music Diver). Did mention it to the mechanics the first time (twice) but that issue is still prevalent. While it doesn't really affect gameplay by any means, not being able to keep any of the progress you made is pretty rough.

1 year agojoesushiIt's still behind a few updates. When I was at the opening last Saturday Drummania was on the August 2023 update. Updates I believe would need to be done in order to get to the cab fully updated to Galaxy Wave.
1 year agoKikoiaNot sure; I tried talking to the techs and just got a shrug in response. Don't know if it'll go through in the next few days if they reboot the cab or something.

1 year agojac238On opening day I saw someone talking to a tech about issues with the P1 side and I saw him write it down so they’re definitely aware. Hope it gets fixed sooner than later
1 year agoDogman1227Headed over today to significantly less people around, and decided to give a little testing to the DDR machine and now the Player 1 Right Arrow is not working, no matter how hard I press. Have reported to staff and well, we'll see what becomes of it.

1 year agojabashque@jac238 as far as I know, unless Round1 orders a new batch of DDR Gold Cabs, new locations are only going to get white cabs that were yoinked from an existing Round1 location.

1 year agoDogman1227If you haven't looked yet at the photos just added, The lower level entrance is now opened up. Managed to snag a few shots, and it looks like the rhythm games will be sitting near that entrance, meaning you'll head down the escalators from the outside entrance, and pretty much head straight on. Getting mad hype here.
