Awesome place to experience Amusement theme parks, roller coaster thrills and so much more but DEFINITELY not a recommended place to play DDR EXTREME. The sensors are unbearable. A South African Dance gamer requested a technician to maintain the pads but instead got mocked for "because you're playing on maniac, you're the reason that the pads are breaking".Update: 22 March 2021, apparently it has been noticed with a picture that they'd downgraded the EXTREME cabinet to a DDR 3rd mix version (not sure if it's a 3rd mix plus or normal). You can find the picture that has been taken on 22 March 2021 on the "pictures icon". Not sure about the pad conditions right now or anything important to know about this cabinet. We just only know that the versions had been replaced.
Gold reef city sometimes... Just go to other better arcades in South Africa honestly lol.

(Update by SFJ Variety): 18 February 2024. It has recently been uncovered that there are now in fact two, Magic Company arcades within Gold Reef City with the second one debuting on the first half of 2023. This means that there are now in fact two Dance Dance Revolution arcade machines available to play albeit in their own respective arcades within the same venue. The first machine is running 3rdMiX Korea.ver2 whilst the second cabinet still runs the Extreme software which we are used to.
With the COVID-19 pandemic being deemed as redundant in the year of 2024 the operating times at both the arcades have reverted back to normal. The updated times will be provided.

| Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMIX Ver.KOREA2 (Korea) Location: This is the 1st machine and it can be found in the Casino side of Gold Reef City @ The Magic Company Comment: The machine is a K-Cab and it's condition is Great with Player 1 side being moderately playable Whilst Player 2 side is Substantial, Pretty Good Sound from both top speakers and woofers. The screen like most Magic Company DDR cabs has been updated to an LCD Panel which might affect timing slightly. The Machine's aesthetic conditions are quite close to being deemed as original, The machine has the 3rdMiX marquee with it's original factory seal. The marquee lights are functional although they are utilising replacement blue and red led bulbs, The bass neons are also still fully functional as well aiding to the overall play experience of the cabinet.*CD-ROM Error Has been remedied and the cabinet is in a fully functional state(03/2026) | (This Machine has been recently upgraded to make use of a card facility like other selected Magic Company arcades)

| Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME (Japan) Location: This is the 2nd Machine and it can be found in the Theme Park section of Gold Reef City at the second Magic Company location. Comment: The machine condition is definitely Great with both Player 1 and Player 2 sides in pretty good functional capacity. Pretty Good Sound from both top speakers and woofers albeit a bit quieter than most players would prefer in a busy arcade. The machine also houses a replacement lcd monitor which might affect timing slightly and it also has replacement led bulbs for all four of the marquee lights, in place of the halogens that are normally found. The machine also has functional bass neon lights and pad lights as well which aid to the visual aspects of gameplay. The machine is mostly original with the only a few non-factory replacement parts that do not severely affect gameplay however. | (This Machine has been recently upgraded to make use of a card facility like other selected Magic Company arcades)
