Payment: Arcades use a reloadable card that stores points (game credits) and tickets. Points are worth 20¢, while spending over $20 earns you bonus points. Log in to add your own comments!I'm surprised they didn't move the StepMania machine from the Castro Valley location here. I hope they'll convert it to a more modern machine.
Huh, so they finally got rid of that ITG machine, the last rhythm game they had. I would say end of an era, except the era was already over for over a decade. Was good times back when they still had an arcade in the back room instead of the laser tag section. I'll never forget the time I played Keyboardmania and Para Para Paradise here. Good times!
Just visited this place, and I didn't see IIDX anywhere.
This place did change a lot when they did the laser tag conversion...Arcade Mania was the best thing ever, always packed and someone ready to play with you. Place is very sad now.
Always felt like this place took a hit after they converted their old arcade room into laser tag. May be migrating to Sunnyvale to play at SVGL.
I played IIDX here earlier today. 1P and 2P turntables are completely flat and really difficult to grip and scratch. The 4 key on 1P side also sticks down occasionally. Would either of these issues ever get fixed with this machine? It was like this a few months back when I played SPADA. I figured since they got the PENDUAL upgrade, it might have gotten fixed but it doesn't seem like it.
Removed PPP 2nd Mix. I think drummania 10th is also gone because they were selling it at the same time as PPP (when they remodeled the back building for laser tag).
I have started going to this arcade a lot recently for the past few months. I used to go when they had extreme and all the old ones. Now they only have ITG2 and so far it's pretty good. They replace the sensors often which is the best part. Both bars are wobbly but P2's side is much better. I have used P1's side and it's not that bad either but I would rather use P2.
I usually play here for the arcades, but not the golf. This place doesn't qualify for Z-I-v's Score Tracker because of using an ITG system instead of the DDR (there is no more X cabinet).
ITG, Technika 3, and a bunch of the fighting games have been moved to the front (pizza) building, but wristband Thursdays still apply to them. T3 and IIDX are off-network. News is that the back arcade area is being converted to laser tag (?!) so be alert that games might just go missing.
As for the ITG2's condition, the P2 side and the bars are back to being wobbly and the two sides do still wander apart during double play, but the pads are for the most part properly sensitive.
Checked into MGL last night. P2 side wobblies are fixed, as are the USB ports.
2P side has the uneven platform for ITG2; same with the black platform, too.
Any story on how the ITG2 pads have a weird divide in the middle now? I imagine that will make doubles play rather difficult.
As of recently, the empty space is now occupied by the Beatmania cab with some decorative trees. Pretty much an indicator that we shouldn't expect anything new.
good vv
DDR X machine removed as of 2 Jun 2012.
funny how they removed the side speakers for the guitar freaks v4, wonder who bought them, they move the stupid cab with the attached and ended up breaking them apart...iidx kept on crashing for some stupid reason...both drummania pads got there sensors working again...
So... Today, MGL had an operational IIDX 18.
1P right arrow fixed.
Machine overall is still like other X machines in the U.S.
Hoping for X2 soon.
Technika 2 is 4 tokens.
ITG2 is r23, upgrade cabinet. USB and custom songs enabled.
Dead sensors:
1p right arrow left sensor
2p left arrow down+right sensors
2p down arrow left+up sensors
Bars are wobbly.
Menu timer is unlimited, theme/mods are default.
DDR X
1P right arrow, busted with cracks (stupid kids) yet still functional
ITG2 was being repaired (as of this post.)
Added Technika 2, no idea on the price though.
ITG2 is powered off..
DDR X broken sensors:
1P right arrow, left sensor
2P down arrow, left sensor
2P down arrow, top sensor
ITG2 is an upgrade - from SVGL. The bars are wobbly and the pads aren't worth playing on.
