Information

Right now this is the best place to come and play at in Westchester County. New Roc has a new deal called the Weekday Fuze Package. The package us players normally get is the Bronze package which is $22.99 ($23.24 with tax) and have an unlimited game card for 1 hour (1 swipe per 45 seconds) and either a game of laser tag of racing in the downstairs area. This is now an every day deal they use to offer only on Wednesday known as Wacky Wednesday. The card does not work on prize games, and the new 4D shooter game they installed.

UPDATE: As of May 2015, this arcade has gotten rid of their token games, and older claw machines, in lieu of newer, rigged claw machines, and other newer redemption games reminiscent of those found at a Dave & Buster's arcade.

Wonder where the machines are gonna go now that this place is closed. :( What is happening with this location now that the arcade is closed? :)
travelsonic2 years agotravelsonic
Yeah - last I went was years ago, do they still have both the ITG2 dedicab AND the DDR EXTREME cab?
NuVirus2 years agoNuVirus
This leaves literally just Sportime USA as the sole remaining venue with ITG between Westchester, Rockland, and NYC. Really crazy stuff~
travelsonic2 years agotravelsonic
Not to mention the transportation options were more convenient for me - though I do drive, I don't trust myself after a few hours of playing nothing but DDR heavy/challenge, ITG2 hard/expert, and PIU hard and crazy charts.
travelsonic2 years agotravelsonic
For me it was the easy access to so many dance game machines (at one point 7?) - the place had some a long way from when I first went there in 2006 or so, with just that one PIU machine, MAX2, ITG2, and an EXTREME that froze whenever you'd try to play doubles, and the pads were utter shit so often. 2009-2015 was my favorite time to go there (went back to college in 2016, so no time to play) - wide variety of dance games, pads working well more often than not it seemed... even when they had that weird Stepmania setup that was, honestly, loads of fun (even if sorting was a bit of a pain in the ass, having ITG/2 songs in one folder, everything else shoved into a ginormous folder). IDK of anywhere else near by that had the kind of variety New Roc had nearing the end. :(
yyr2 years agoyyr
So is the entire Funfuzion complex gone? The go karts, mini golf, etc. or just the arcade?
yyr2 years agoyyr
Looks like they actually closed back in March. Yeah, it's sad, but their glory days are long gone. I remember those $20 Wacky Wednesdays, the crappy pizza that we ate anyway, the tons of folks crowded around the dance games, the USB ports actually working on ITG, and the huge Derby Owners Club setup. Also they had Espgaluda. And this is where I played DJMAX Technika for the first time. Yeah, it'll be missed, but it's really the 2000s decade here that will be missed, I think.
travelsonic2 years agotravelsonic
Damn it. Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it!

; n ;

So many great memories - hope the machines find good homes.
NuVirus2 years agoNuVirus
...and just like that, a small part of me who remembers when things were once peaceful has passed on...godspeed, Funfuzion~
travelsonic4 years agotravelsonic
Well, that sucks (the loss of the non-Megamix-Bootleg EXTREME machine)
NuVirus4 years agoNuVirus
I plan on making a list of all the songs that function properly on the DDR Megamix machine, based on recent visits/experiences.
NuVirus4 years agoNuVirus
The prize center is now in the front of the arcade, the pinball games have been moved to the back (the former site of the prize center), stuffed animals are no longer available in the prize center, and the DDR Extreme machine & PIU Pro machine are no longer in the arcade.
prince_david6 years agoprince_david
The ITG machine works pretty good witht he customs but i gotta say as someone who cant do the top charts its pretty frustrating when you choose an easier chart and no notes come out
prince_david6 years agoprince_david
I wouldnt be surprised that at some point this was a hot spot for DDR. They have a lot of machines. Its kind of a pity that its so expensive because this could be a hot spot for the community
NuVirus6 years agoNuVirus
To think the ITG US Open was actually meant to originally be here of all places... >w>
NuVirus6 years agoNuVirus
The best I remember is that the first time I saw the machine there, there was a sign advertising a DDR Tournament...one that looks like had just already happened mere days ago. With no prior announcements.
NuVirus6 years agoNuVirus
Correct, the prices went up...I believe around the time the SM machine mysteriously appeared at Funfuzion, with a folder full of random simfiles from Bemanistyle's simfile database, and running the NewNova theme. Those were the days...I just wish I knew *why* it suddenly appeared.
travelsonic6 years agotravelsonic
I need to start coming back to New Roc to play DDR + ITG ... my stamina shouldn't be too awful seeing I am now training to join the IONA College rugby team, and do intense drills every day.
travelsonic6 years agotravelsonic
The 20 cent increase seems to had been made in the last few years, though, hadn't it? I seem to recall the machines ALL being $2.00/X songs up until a number of years ago.
NuVirus6 years agoNuVirus
The prices have been this way for many years. For one, arcades in Westchester County are far & few in between. Secondly, Westchester County's expensive in general.
AvocadoRivalry6 years agoAvocadoRivalry
I'm going to be moving into the area shortly and aside from a stop on my way home from work to D&B to play DDR A, this seems like it'll be the best bet for me to play at. Does anyone have any idea as to *why* these prices are so high - just seems a bit crazy!
prince_david6 years agoprince_david
It's called "A Video Game Con" in New Jersey. http://www.avideogamecon.com/ They will be hosting an Extreme tournament
NuVirus6 years agoNuVirus
Tourney? If it's here, I'm definitely interested.
prince_david6 years agoprince_david
Going to be coming here more over the next couple of weeks to try and train myself on Extreme. Got a tourney coming up and I want to get used to that old machine again. Price is a bit much but at least you get 4 songs i guess
travelsonic6 years agotravelsonic
I concur with the selection being great / the conditions being pretty damn good, (especially compared to 10 years ago - I remember when the EXTREME They had would freeze randomly lol).... and the prices being a bit much for these games. ~_~
prince_david6 years agoprince_david
Whats weird is all the older games are 2.20. i don't know what they are thinking with this it drives away players. Pump Prime is 1$ and actually the machine is in decent shape. Also thank you for the drill-o-matic reocmmendation im looking for another ticket game to get good at. Right now only good at temple run but the ratio is pretty bad outside of D&B
NuVirus6 years agoNuVirus
Also, if you ever end up feel like taking up the ticket games, try to learn Drill-O-Matic. You'll thank me one day. ;-)
NuVirus6 years agoNuVirus
It's honestly quite odd. They charge $2.20 for all the other dance games, except Prime...which is only $1. Never quite got that.
prince_david6 years agoprince_david
I went today and it was pretty good! Its kind of tragic they charge 2$ per round of most of the dance games besides Pump Prime, but still a great place iwth lots of great games. I was blown away that they had Raiden Fighters.
prince_david6 years agoprince_david
So how is this place? Prices look pretty darn high but I might come check it out anyway.
travelsonic7 years agotravelsonic
I now go to Iona College (though presently living at home, which sucks becasue it'd be great to live just down the street essentially from NEw Roc) - and made the crazy idea to start working out, training to join the school's Rugby club/team, which means endurance training, which absolutely IMO means re-starting my addiction to ITG2 as part of the regiment. :P
NuVirus7 years agoNuVirus
I feel you man, college has kept me so busy, I've had no time for any rhythm games (at least in a public setting). I'd really to meet up with you here for ITG some time.
travelsonic8 years agotravelsonic
Damn, I need to get back to playing ITG2 & DDR, probably gained stamina by regualrly running, and became more balanced after working out in a gym for the last 4 months, so getting back into it should not be as hard as if I had taken years off with no other exercise, but I miss the hell out of the place, and playing there. Just been so goddammed busy lately. ~_~
travelsonic8 years agotravelsonic
Yeah, I just wish the sorting was better (and that the sound for the songwheel navigation wasn't so loud), other than that, it was a kickass machine.
NuVirus8 years agoNuVirus
I actually really miss that SM machine (it helped me pass Energizer far earlier than I should've been able to). I wish I knew what happened to it...there were a lot of interesting simfiles on that machine, which were supposedly randomly picked out from the Bemanistyle website (before it went bad by killing it's simfile database). The SM machine was actually there as a way of Bemanistyle using New Roc to showcase it's simfiles. So yeah, a little Bemanistyle/New Roc trivia for ya.
travelsonic8 years agotravelsonic
Shweet, SN1 back at New Roc. I remember the first time around that they had SN1, before it was replaced with that hilarious StepMania machine, and then SN2.
travelsonic8 years agotravelsonic
Ah. That seems doable - a bit of a long trek for me, so I wouldn't go often, but once in a while I'd go - even if just for the beatmaniaIIDX, having not played on a machine since I was in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2009, and played IIDX Happy Sky at an arcade called Sully's Beach Gameland... which, sadly... closed not terribly long after that trip. :(
NuVirus8 years agoNuVirus
No. You'd have to take the TZX from White Plains to the back of the Palisades Mall, where you can transfer to the Suffern-bound 59 bus, which will take you to Nanuet Arcade. The bus stop where the arcade is at is located near a car wash, right after a KFC.
travelsonic8 years agotravelsonic
The one with IIDX 19th, Pop'n Music, DDR SuperNOVA, ITG2, Re-Rave, etc? Been wanting to check that one out, looked fan-effing-tastic... would be a bit of a drive for me - though does the Tappan-Zee Express go to that part of Nanuet?
NuVirus8 years agoNuVirus
It was broken when I showed up last Thursday. It might be up & running now, though. Have you considered visiting the new arcade up in Nanuet?
travelsonic8 years agotravelsonic
WAit, what's going on with the ITG2 machine? Bummer, was hoping to go this weekend to play.
travelsonic10 years agotravelsonic
Oh, and please talk to management if you can about putting signs up telling people to not run across the pads while people are playing - happened to me a lot in the past few years, and it can be very dangerous - between the kids tripping, and the tunnel vision at least I - definitely others I bet - get playing where we tune out everything but the screen and thus can't see when kids are about to do it.

Once a few years ago I was playing Summer ~Speedy Mix~ expert on the ITG2 machine, and a kid ran across **ON THE PAD** as I hit that first really long stream. Came within inches of tripping and faceplanting on that floor.
travelsonic10 years agotravelsonic
@VComKloak

Def. gotta have someone look at the shocks under the P1 side of the EXTREME machine - the one closest to the ITG2 machine - the pads shake like crazy and if you step on one part of it the other side lifts up a noticable couple of inches. The sensors work great though. :D

I go to the arcade early on Saturdays - usually right when they open, it's FANTASTIC with how few people are there. :D
NuVirus10 years agoNuVirus
How about getting the machine hacked?
VComKloak10 years agoVComKloak
ITG2 is ready for anything...new sensors, we put the volume and bass up as well. As of right now they are literally the best sensors in any arcade. Brand new sensor...the cabinet itself will get an upgrade soon as we are in the talks about the hdtv and customizing
NuVirus10 years agoNuVirus
Perfect. How about ITG2?
VComKloak10 years agoVComKloak
I go to New Roc every Friday and sometimes I make an appearance Weds around 6:30PM (after work -_-) lol. Yeah I'm going to update this more often so i'm going tomorrow to take some pics of the place. Also we have I believe 100 new sensors? So all the machines are going to get the sensors replaced. Extreme is the next machine to get the volume change and sensors swapped. Glad i could help :)
NuVirus10 years agoNuVirus
Sure thing. Thanks for updating this location. I haven't been here in weeks since I started college, so it's great to see that at least someone's keep us updated with how New Roc is doing.

How often do you go to New Roc?
VComKloak10 years agoVComKloak
If anyone here cares to know this is Fatz from NewRoc arcade
NuVirus10 years agoNuVirus
We got there at around 3 or 4 PM.

travelsonic10 years agotravelsonic
Oh I am so gonna try to make it on the 30th then [this Friday] :D
NuVirus10 years agoNuVirus
When are you going to New Roc? Me & some friends are planning to go on the 30th, to celebrate the 9th anniversary of the release of ITG. You should go too on that day. I have a lot of things planned... :)
travelsonic10 years agotravelsonic
I AM SO breaking out the DDR 5th Mix double length songs for that.... and another simfile concoction I am hoping will be hilarious to try to play [and equally so to watch]. :D
NuVirus10 years agoNuVirus
I am proud to announce that you can now play USB customs on the ITG2 machine.
One of the employees finally got the chance to place a port with USB slots, and mounted it onto the side of the machine. A lot of people have been taking advantage of this successful feat. Anybody else who plays ITG & is near this arcade, feel free to go here and finally enjoy playing custom simfiles off of their USBs.
travelsonic11 years agotravelsonic
I mean, Yesterday I posted on their Facebook page that I'd hope that they'd use the revenue from the jacked up prices to play DDR/ITG/PIU to actually keep the machines in good shape - this is probably one of the few [if not only] places in the Weschester/Manhattan/Bronx/etc area with SEVEN machines [2 PIU, 1 ITG2, 2 DDRSN2, 2 DDR EXTREME] - and a ton of mass transit options on top of that making access easy.

Given that, I think pushing them to keep their machines maintained would be better than what some DDR players said years ago, to abandon the place . Call me overly optimistic, maybe call nostalgic since New Roc was the first place I got to play arcade DDR in about 7 years ago [I feel old].

[Heck, the security guards have told me that people should complain more to keep the machines maintained]

I'm just happy that goddammed Drumscape machine is out of order.
YuRiE11 years agoYuRiE
I'm aware that people cannot "dedicate" their time or money; however I suggested that people can go out there IF they have the time or money.

Maybe I was a little vague on my description, but keep in mind that comment was posted a year ago.

lol.
travelsonic11 years agotravelsonic
GUYS, bug the everlasting **** out of them.

That is probably one of the only ways to get them to fix the machines.

Two springs ago, after many months of being busted - and lots of complaining - the ITG2 machine was fixed up, and for a while was in incredible shape.

I miss the rare times where the machines were all in decent shape - and with 7 machines there really is no excuse. Ugh.

YuRiE, *facepalm*

You know that not everybody can dedicate the time, money, or resources to travel a distance that may be a few hours worth of travel to go there, right?
NuVirus12 years agoNuVirus

Some of the pads are actually broken.

Just head over to 8otb or STIX

• Comment changed to "This upgrade cabinet has finally gotten it's USB slots, and can now play custom simfiles off of a USB. However, the machine was upgraded to R23, in order to fix a problem that the machine was giving as R21, where random misses & way offs were being given, regardless of the condition of the pads. In other words, song cutoff is 2:15. Now, P1 is in better condition (left panel may get stuck if you step on it too hard). P2 doesn't seem to be worth playing on."

One of the employee's said he's trying to get a usb port installed so we can play custom songs, so keep your hopes up for that. It should be installed soon. Both pads giving TONS of pad misses, but should be fixed up in the near future [they are trying to get a shipment of sensors in to fix up all the machines apparently]"
