New page, same adage.

I managed to kill Explorer in Win10 by renaming a file on my connected phone. I wonder if I can do it again.

"Still here, somehow."
So I had a bit of a rough time yesterday.

That is, our dog, Sara, was taken to the vet to see if she had to be put down due to her quite old age. She came back home, still standing, but now she's taking a variety of medications. Oh, and did I tell any of you before that she's been gnawing away at her hips because she's either being stressed or having an allergic reaction to fleas?

I also had a rough time today as well, as the first half of my time spent with my divorced father was mostly me arguing to no end whatsoever about Pokémon GO not having more than 150 Pokémon in it. During this time, I learned that Niantic somehow got away with excluding some of Generation 1's Pokémon, like Ditto. I also learned that only Asians get to have Farfetch'd, which is most likely making non-Asian players of this game--me not included--lose their patience for the day when Niantic adds trading support to the game. I'm still waiting on them adding all of Johto's 'mons, which might give me a reason to start playing the game, but then I learned that it'll take ABOUT THREE FUCKING MONTHS FROM THE DAY I POSTED THIS for them to do it. I also repeatedly heard that having all of the Pokémon up to Gen. 6 would be too overwhelming for Niantic and some people, but I'm a Pokémon veteran and I can tell you that having 718 Pokémon available by default in a spinoff would not overwhelm me, even if I had worked for Niantic (which I obviously don't work for...yet).

The reason why I was arguing? I was hungry, so we stopped by a Mazatlan in downtown Everett. Oh, and I'm still angry at Niantic Labs for not including 718+ Pokémon by default in Pokémon GO.

I also tried emulating the original Animal Crossing again earlier this night, since it's a Saturday and that means K.K. Slider has come to town, but I gave up since I somehow lost my urge to play Animal Crossing daily. I blame the fact that I'm still regretting the fact that I erased my ACNL save data in June because Cherry moved out. I also requested my favorite K.K. song to him when I got to talk to him, but the fact that Nintendo didn't code in support for the two nonexistant black keys on a piano's keyboard in this game made K.K.'s whistling off-key by about a semitone. It was not the same is what I'm saying.

tl;dr? I've had quite a rough time the past two days, this one included. Dead

"Just Play Along"
I'd rather not have all Pokemon by default. No Pokemon game lets you go out and catch every single Pokemon without doing some trading between games thst have different in-game regions. By periodically adding new Pokemon they can continue to revitalize interest in the game so that it is consitently popular and has a large audience of players, and ensures that newcomers can get to know the Pokemon with time rather than all at once, just like we veteran Pokemon fans have with every new generation. If you had all the Pokemon at once, then there wouldn't be anything to anticipate anymore besides some new features.

Also, sorry to hear about your bad day. I'm really aching to play some Animal Crossing: New Leaf too, but the game got wet along with my 3DS XL which I've since had repaired. I had made so much progress! Sad

There's going to be a pretty good reason as to why you and I should get back to it--Nintendo is going to add amiibo support to it sometime this fall, making all of the amiibo cards you've collected and/or used for Happy Home Designer and/or amiibo Festival significantly more useful. I guess because of this, I might as well return to it when Nintendo updates it then.

...assuming I can try to ignore the "realism" that is grass deterioration, which is the one thing that convinced me to stop playing New Leaf for about a month after I had first played it from June 20 to early August of 2015. I also plan on selling the copy I've had since June 20 of that year soon, but maybe I should decide against it due to the aforementioned update.

Also, when I posted this, I saw that I had 66.6 points. Devil

Clinton supporters are some of the densest, most unreasonable in the world.

But so are most Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump supporters, so really, no one wins.

There are people now calling Wikileaks the usual 'mysogynist, sexist, racist [anita sarkeesian gif]' because by pointing out that the people on the Hilary Clinton side are corrupt, and despite them being obviously on the side of Sanders, everyone's been forced into this silly false dichotomy where if you aren't for Hilary you're for Trump an you hate Mexico etcetc

Basically politicians are 99.85% likely to be cunts. But when you've got a slit down there it gives you a get out of jail free card.

Not exactly false in terms of the probability of outcomes and the voter pool. Voters who "make a statement" by voting third party to spite Clinton take themselves out of the voting pool because it's effectively impossible for any candidate of the sort to win this election, making it easier for Trump to take swing states and win. It's not like this hasn't happened before in recent history: Ralph Nader has been the nadir of third party candidates to me ever since he threw off Florida in 2000.

(Also, less recently in 1992, Bush Sr. lost to Bill Clinton in good part due to the campaign of right-leaning Ross Perot)

The UK voting system's quite similar to the US one, and until 2010 any talk of a third party having a real shot at winning was unthinkable, and then the students started to back the Liberal Democrats, and there was a proper three horse race, then 2015 came and SNP/UKIP made it a multi-party race. In a place like ours where a huge swathe of the public will still go "I'm voting Labour because my Dad did and I've always voted Labour hurdehurdehur", that's big, big progress. And if the UK can do it, so too can America. Granted, it won't happen immediately in one election, but the 2016 one is a great chance to springboard the movement.

Sadly, though, people these days want immediate change or they aren't budging, so what I've said is complete arse. Oh well.

EDIT: Wait, is Jill Stein an anti-vaxxer? WELP that's all four of the main parties fucked.

EDIT2: Turns out Gary Johnson, at least socially, is far less mad than the other three, but he's a bit too conservative economically for my taste. Still, between the four, that's who I'd PROBABLY go for. The Political Compass site gets it right:

"Are the fat cat vulgarian and the hawkish pin-up girl of Wall Street really the finest minds and noblest characters that America could come up with for its highest office? Identity politics will, again, triumph. We’ve had a black leader. Now it will be cool to have a woman, right? Thinking progressives, however, might reflect on the uncomfortable truth that a President Trump would be relentlessly scrutinised, criticised and checked not only by the Democrats, but also by many in his own party. Conversely, a Democratic president, ultimately more different in style than substance, would implement a largely Republican agenda in all but name and get a relatively easy ride. Haven't the last eight years of neo-conservatism and Democratic deference brought the country too close already to a one-party state masquerading as a two-party state?"

EDIT3: OH, Gary Johnson supports TPP. FUCK THAT.

Yeah, my thoughts were close to those. There's potential for a third party candidate to become a legitimate viability, but they'd need to announce their candidacy early (like 2-3 years), have their policy prepared, and of course get themselves on all the states' ballots, get an ad committee or SuperPAC, and get on debates (which I think last happened with Perot). As is, Stein basically became known to the general public as a candidate just when the split Delocrat voters wanted a "spite" candidate, and little of what I mentioned will really work in this election cycle, so that's why I consider it a false choice at the moment.

For the sake of educating myself, I took a look at the 2012 election in which Stein campaigned under the Green Party. While she did have some policies prepared (though a handful were a little vague and ambitious, bundled under a package known as the Green New Deal), announced her candidacy 1.5 years prior, and had her ballot in 80% of states, only 1% of voters intended to vote for her, and half of that actually did. Also, both her and her Vice President had multiple run-ins with the law during the campaign, which may have irreparably tarnished her particular chances in the near future. (Though it's not quite as bad the situation as Eugene Debs was in a century back: he tried to get elected 5 times and was arrested as a socialist activist during his final campaign, ending up in prison as the election happened)

When I went to Dave & Busters last week, I saw more people playing Pump-It-Up than DDR. The only people playing DDR were myself and two other good players. What's up with that? Am I missing something?
