Over here, to get good at DDR, you have to have a chip implanted in your brain that translates END OF THE CENTURY to SONG YOU PICK BECAUSE YOU'RE TOO NARROW-MINDED TO PICK ANYTHING ELSE.

The same applies for AFRONOVA, and Freak Like Me from Dancing Stage Fusion.

Well i can somehow relate if it was AFRONOVA being taken away, it's just too overplayed really

....BUT it would still suck for them to remove that song on the AC

...you know what's funny? I think Konami WANTS us to purchase the home versions because of this issue...

These newly removed songs (the Dynamite Raves, EOTC) are gone too in the japanese version thru updates, or this is just for the european versions?

I'm not surprised that End of the Century was removed. It IS the same vocalists as Dynamite Rave, which is where the licensing issues lie. Let's see if:

A. Burnin' the Floor (BLUE FIRE mix) is removed
B. Burnin' the Floor is re-recorded with new lyrics
C. Burnin' the Floor is removed
D. A and B

It is very possible that Konami is making Volume 1 with the intent to give all these songs one last horrah before sending them off for good. It would be easy for Konami to talk to the artists and amend the contract for one final mix (It's how they got butterfly into EXTREME).

EX-F***ING-ACTLY! Vol. 1 can act as the mix that contains the songs that cannot be put onto the new AC, but can still be on a home console for it's final "encore"...

...hope something like this happens >_>

The removals wouldn't sting so hard if there were a lot of great new songs added. But X's songlist is pretty weak compared to SN2's, even though I think the charts are better. They're softening the blow with the Wii songs I guess...

It looks like some of the old DDR artistes are up on there contracts. That would explain the hand full of new artistes. Someone has to carry the torch.

I would imagine it's easier on HP2 versions because HP songs are rarely recycled (except in the case of the DDRX HP crossovers).

Er...Most of the DDR artists are still there. Naoki, U1, Sota Fujimori....more recently, Osamu Migitera, Yoshitaka, dj TAKA...It just seems to be the vocalists that have gone away, who I think have been properly replaced (Hello Alison Wade and TAYA <3).

I think Noakis come along way production-wise. Besides vocalists, it might be a personal choice to redo or scrap some of these songs.
