Is there really any reason not to use SM5 other than being stubborn and not wanting to change? (legit question by the way, not trying to be rude or anything)
I say whatever works best for the simfile artist.Post #42 · Posted at 2015-02-24 10:47:53am 9.1 years ago

This exact set of words for me, please.
Looking forward to a competitive tournament! (That is, if I can actually get into the rounds...)

I gotta participate and redeem myself for last year. I'll do singles only, though.

i don't use any SM5 features and 3.9 does exactly what i need to do, so i don't really see any need to get anything's that heavier and not quite stable (this might have changed though)
anyway, i'm in, i guess. expect songs only from bemani because of reasons.

Even if it is stable, I'd still probably stay at 3.9. I'm not theming and I don't make charts with rolls in, so there's no real necessity to go higher.

two cents: 3.9 is fine, really any version is so long as it can support something as basic as rolls. Even if you don't use them in your charts, some people might include them in theirs, and you won't get the full experience of their simfiles if your Stepmania version can't support rolls. This is kind of important in a tournament where we're judging each other's files, yeah?

yeah, that too. it does the same thing (that i require) and consumes less resources, at least to me, so there's that.
also forgot to say i'm in for both singles and doubles, oops

Here's a question.
Do you have to make a chart for both doubles and singles in the same week? Just asking because I'd really like to join both but I don't feel that I have so much time to work on them

Yeah, the rules on the first post doesn't say anything about difficulties like it usually does. Usually through are required. @Pandemonium X Pls clarifyPost #57 · Posted at 2015-02-24 07:21:38pm 9.1 years ago

(insert responses here)
Fair enough. If I use any SM5 gimmicks in my files I'll make a 3.9 friendly version to go along with it.

If you entered both brackets, then yes. Less people are entering Doubles though so there won't be as many rounds where you have to step for Doubles.

Thank you very much! Well, I'll sit out from that bracket then ;-;
