StepMania 5.0.9 released

StepMania 5.0.9 has been released, with various minor changes, mostly bug fixes from 5.0.8.

Any compatible theme's with this recent update?

Any theme that worked without errors on beta 4 will work without errors on 5.0.5.

Apparently the latest waiei theme (my favorite theme) is not compatible.

It say's in-game that any newer version (4a and up) will not work, but any older version (3b and lower) will work.

Any other theme recommendation?

That's because they apparently don't want to spend 2 hours fixing trivially easy mistakes. It's not the fault of the Stepmania devs.

Simply Love, Barebone (by Jousway), Mithras Gone Wild, Ultralight, Obelisk, Moonlight (I fixed 2 errors in it, it's freem's theme), and Trotmania all work fine (or so I assume, it's been a couple months since I tried any of them, but dbk2, YungDaVinci, Jousway, and Lirodon are all active about fixing problems). Freem went off to do Neo-geo development, but if there are problems in Ultralight or Moonlight, I'll probably fix them.
The tiny problem that I noted in the release notes is the only problem Cyberia Style 8 had when I tried it a couple weeks ago. They should be able to fix it quickly.

I of course, use Consensual when I play.

I've been getting these errors since I updated my files to 5.0.5.

I'm using the SD version of the DDR 2014 theme. I didn't see this error when trying out the HD theme.

I'm 99% sure you are running the beta 4 executable, because I know GetUpdateRate is in 5.0.5.

Edit: I tried out the 4:3 version of the riskofsoundingnerdy's 2014 theme, and didn't see any problems on songs with or without videos.

I have a partially working version of waiei kicking around as well, if you're okay with Speed Assist not working and some minor visual problems.

I suspect Kyzentun is testing an old version of CyberiaStyle 8 - the version check uses VersionDate() as of CyberiaStyle 8.4 (released in January) and works without issues here. The creator is working on the BackgroundFitMode thing.

I was testing CyberiaStyle8_Solid_030_v084.zip, downloaded January 30th.

Wait, you were referring to the other version function. Okay then, my mistake. You'd think he'd have eliminated beta 2 support by now, though.

Also, I take back the "without issues" part - there was one related to extra01.crs files where the folder is not specified. I still haven't gotten round to notifying the creator.

Uh, not really a question about this specific version of SM but: what's the current status of the beat mode support in SM? Is it alive, frozen, dead or deader than disco?

Beat mode mostly works, and is waiting for someone to step up and work on it.
I think the only substantial issue is the notes being a bit off in reverse, but I haven't played it to look for other problems.

Side note: I made a mistake when fixing a crash bug the night before release, and broke bpm editing, so we're going to put together 5.0.6 soon.

Do you have a noteskin named "default"? If you don't, that's probably the problem.

Finally got my new Internet and now i see there's a new SM5 version... well actually I saw it some few days ago but I noticed something when I was theming on this version.

I use the SM5 windowed, and when a make a LUA error for example on the Beta 4 it show me in-game the problem, in this one, at the first use, the error was shown in a little message window... I chosen to ignore these messages box (same as I did on Beta 4) but doing this on this new version the messages doesnt show up.

The errors in-game doesnt show up if I choose to ignore the messages window... (on Beta 4 if I ignored the window message, in-game still showing them but no on this version) is there anyone with the same problem??

PD: new version means Update all the themes XD

One small thing I noticed and I've let to see this reported is in edit mode, Change record hold time is labeled as Q/M when it should be I believe Q/W. I know it's a super small thing but it is there.

So I disabled the on-screen errors if you ignore any dialogs.

I hate this whole shituation and I don't want to talk about it anymore.

I think u dont understand me what I said... (maybe Im wrong, my english is limited)...

Stepmania Beta 4: Ignored dialogs (window dialogs) ... Errors still showing up in-game (Like).

Stepmania 5.0.6: Ignored dialogs (window dialogs) ... Errors now doesnt show up in-game (Dislike).

I want exactly the opposite to yours links, on Beta 4 if I ignore the WINDOW dialogs errors (e.g. by a LUA error) in-game the errors still showing up, for me is a little annoying close that little window again and again when I'm theming... I highly prefer that the game show me the problems.

That does not happen on 5.0.6 ... few days ago I was theming on 5.0.6 and then, no errors appeared, and then it was because I ingore the Window dialogs, doing that I ingore the in-game errors too. I hope you understand me, it was very nice at Beta 4... Well anyway if this still happens to me I will still theming only for B4 (at the moment the best version for me).
