If a user is not active for so long (I think it's a year), then their category is removed. active as in posting, or hell I think just being logged on to the site would do it. This is so the server is not overloaded with simfile categories that are never updated. I would try PMing neothe0ne but seeing how he's been inactive for years, you might not get a response.
