I've had no luck at all again this RSF with nearly 400 tickets spent...

Nothing yet for me, but then again I've had about ten tries.

How I envy those of you who have 400 tickets to spend like that.

This could be something big. Not just with CROSSxBEATS, but with arcade music games in the US. IF REV really shows to be successful, then it proves there's a audience that's willing to play these games and might even put Koanmi back to making Bemani games for the US market. Much like how In The Groove brought back DDR to the arcades in the US.

Just wishful thinking.

Ok, according to my Unlock Challenge list, Poochy just got Anomie -Axiom Style- via RSF

Let's wait for his response about how many tries he had to do, but right now I'm absolutely sure RSF relies heavily on RP and just that. Right now I can't think on another element that could give someone the chance to get one of the recent RSF exclusives. From now on I'll just switch back to the "10 players tickets + 10 premium tickets" game sessions. Sincerely, wasting more than that would be futile as things are now.

Thanks for the heads-up, I managed to get in there early and snag it while the drop rate's possibly higher. Sharing it now.

I've also FC'ed it already. Pretty fun chart, very IIDX-like.

Sorry Poochy, but since the RSF began more than 24 hours ago, I just discarded the possibility of an existing Drop Rate at all. In fact, this makes the RP earning rather obvious to reach good surprises within the event.

For now, until something else suggest a change, Random Select Festival is just an elitism tool that the game uses for those who have reached 2000+ RP to have a "boost" and keep playing (don't get bored) while more events are being prepared.

500 PT spent and still not a single surprise, just 6 normal ULC.

Yeah, the yellow ULC rate definitely seems to be higher if your RP is higher. But I've also noticed that even at high RP, the drop rate also seems to be higher the first couple days and decreases over time. I think the time elapsed since the start of the RSF and your RP both have a significant effect on the yellow ULC rate. Personally I dislike RSFs as well (for a long time my profile comment was "I'm sick of RSFs!" in Japanese, and I just changed it back), but I'll put up with them for new songs.

Also, unfortunately I wasn't paying too close attention and lost count of how many tries it took me this time, but it's definitely in the double digits. I'd estimate somewhere around 70-ish tries. Basically ate up all the tickets I accumulated from the last couple events.

Well, I tried a lot and got up at 6am (Chilean Timezone) to try RSF from the very beginning this time.

Just in my first try on the first 60 minutes of the even, I spent almost 200 premium tickets + 12 player tickets. I first tried standard difficulty since the only ULC left there are NF, NFTR and Rebellion. NF ULC appear after 70 or so Premium Ticket spent (didn't clear the challenge 100%), switched to Hard and after spending 120 premium ticket or so, another ULC appeared. Switched back to Standard and Rebellion ULC triggered around 180 spent tickets. After that just one more ULC appeared around 300 spent tickets ( I guess it was Giant Killing -Hard-).

If there is such thing as a drop rate involved, it's being terrible for the time being, even regarding normal blue ULCs.

In the first half an hour of the RSF event starting I got 3 blue ULCs, kept going until nearly 1 hour into it but just got one more blue ULC but no yellows... Just using Hard and Master charts, since I only had one chart left to unlock on each. (...Rebellion MASTER twice FFS)

Just curious if it is a bug...

I completed the Mission to get the SUNSET gameskin but it is not showing up in my customize option.
Anyone else having the same problem?

Nevermind... It is not a bug... Capcom rearranged the skins so the sets will come first follow by individual game skins...

I'm starting to suspect RSF songs are more based on song count than RP. I've gotten an unheard of 3 Yellow Unlock Challenges from this RSF.
This is just a theory though, as I'm not the best person to ask about these kinds of things due to my job leaving me with a lot of expendable income.

As a side note: I noticed today that my RP dropped by about 50 points. Anyone know why this happened?

There are 5 songs that counts towards RP each month, apart from the highest scoring RP songs.
AND it's May, so the monthly RP songs changed.

When I say "RSF exclusive" that just includes Yellow Unlock Chalenge songs that players can get only playing such event ("Romancing Game", Into the Cave", "Murasame", etc). Normally I forget those songs that had appeared on highscore attack or total score attack events, and are equally "labeled" as a Yellow Unlock Challenge.

In other news, the new RP Bonus list helped me a lot with my current level. Last night I was wondering if it's "compulsory" to clear Rebellion or Next Frontier -True Rise- in order to get the +2000RP rank.... Those who already have achieve that level, what do you think/say about it? Could someone get the +2000RP without an Ultimate gameplay clear on those two songs?

Since there are 20 + 5 bonus songs, you will rougly need about 80 RP per song.
Since only the highest RP are taken into consideration, it is certains that you
will need to Ultimate clear the master charts on almost all the RSF exclusives in order to get 2000 RP...

If we do the math:

Usually the 5 monthly RP songs would total at around 250 levels
i.e. MAX RP = 250*1.2 = 300 RP
That means for the remaining 1700 RP, that would be
1700/20 = 85RP (~71lv 100% ULT) on average.
Of course 100% is extremely difficult. I'll say 98% ULT per song.
The average level for ULT clear songs would be around 72,73 something.

So on math, you don't even need NEXT FRONTIER TR or Rebellion to be in the RP list.
Of course it depends on what songs you have.
